I agree with the others. What you are describing suggests it is a URI that isn’t very responsive to whatever antibiotic you were using. So the antibiotic works a little bit, but it doesn’t clear the infection completely. Before deciding it’s “just allergies”, the possibility of a URI should be thoroughly exhausted. I agree that since the sneezing responded to meds, you probably need a longer course and possibly a different med. URI’s can be very persistent and need a very long course of treatment. Just keep at it! It’s normal for there to be ups and downs. Nipping is part of rabbit communicating, so as long as they aren’t full on fighting just keep up with the sessions.

Are you going to a rabbit-experienced exotic vet? Allergies is a diagnosis when everything else is ruled out. Heading that you do a medication that “works” and then it “comes back” makes me wonder if this is a URI that needs a longer course of antibiotics. What medication are you getting each time?

Thank you! I am going to ring my vet again today and try and get some answers. They just keep on putting him on antibiotics and he hates them. Hopefully they will do some more investigation this time. Thanks for your help!

I’ve checked all their common hangout areas, nothing chewed up that I can see. They do lock the carpet a lot but I vaccume and steam clean once in a while.

Thank you! She’s doing okay, still producing some poops and taking pellets/critical care and water. I’m thinking the issue is she’s resistant to Baytril, because I’m seeing discharge on her nose now. Just 6 more hours till she sees the vets, things should be okay

Yes, I think that’s fortunate. I assume it’s only a matter of time before he has another but we’ll have to wait and see. I have lots of questions for the vet about that, but I think she wants him in for imaging if he has even one more.
