The calluses might persist, which isnt a bad thing. It is if they progress to open sores that things becomes worrisome. Its great that you inspect daily.
I had a bun that develloped sore hocks after a period of illness. I followed the instructions in this article: http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/sorehocks.html

How is his hay eating? Usually eating hay is the first to go with tooth problems, but not always. What kind of pellets are you feeding and how much?

a few days ago i got a new bag of oxbow timothy hay for my rabbit. it was very dusty and a lot of the pieces were brown, there were barely any good pieces in it. she was eating it but yesterday i noticed that she didnt seem to be pooping as much and it was just a little smaller. this morning at around 10am i got her a new brand called dumor, it’s…[Read more]

Onyx seems to be passing up his pellets but wants wants sweet snacks like dried bananas.. I’ve cut him off them hoping to force him to eat the pellets…I afraid something could be wrong with his teeth but he won’t let me look.

If the problem is his sinuses, then steam might help. You can run a hot shower in the door closed and the fan off. Then bring him into the bathroom and let him breathe in the steam. Alternatively, you could use one of those steam things designed for people to put their face over. Just don’t add anything to it except water.

Totally agree with Wick& Fable. When I moved my buns went through a few weeks of being very jumpy and easily startled by sounds that they didn’t used to react to!

Chances are that he’ll forget about the table after a while if you block it off properly. Rabbits have a strong tendency to become obsessed with certain places, and at first when you block one of those “hotspots” off, they will try and try again to access it. When it proves not possible, chances are they’ll just forget about the whole thing and…[Read more]

Goodness! I can’t find my notes right now, but I attended a rabbit lecture on ear infections, and I’m pretty sure they said that normal skull x-rays could reveal if one or both of the tympanic bullae are fluid- or pus-filled -which would mean otitis media.
Could you perhaps try fenbendazole meanwhile? Bladesmith’s Dawn had seizures, as you might…[Read more]

You need to block off your table or the entire area if it’s so easily within her jumping reach unfortunately. You could try re-directing her want for that elevation by creating a more enticing (and safe) structure for her to be on nearby with some cardboard boxes or something too.

Normal — I agree with @DanaNM that overtime, him getting exposure to your presence entering his field of view/sensory perceptions isn’t something threatening will lessen this immediate reaction. It has only been two months, so I wouldn’t read into it as a personality trait or anything.
Also remember that, like humans, when a rabbit is very…[Read more]

I am so shocked and heartbroken to read this. 🙁 I am so sorry for your loss.
I’ve lost too many rabbits too soon and over the weekend when no specialist care was available. It’s horrible feeling so helpless. And so often the early symptoms of a serious rare problem present like symptoms of common, less-serious, things. Ugh. I do hope that…[Read more]

They are definitely communicating without fighting, which is really good! Sometimes it’s slower going when the buns just sit in their corners like lumps. Sounds like your son is a great bonding assistant! I would definitely keep using clapping to break up tense interactions when possible. At this stage, it’s good to start gradually removing…[Read more]

my bunny who’s a year old now has started jumping on my table again, she jumps up on the table by herself from the floor and its always a pain when i wake up to my table being covered with pee n poos. I have tried covering the table to stacking the table edge with books and pillows to prevent her jumping up but she still manages to mario jump up…[Read more]

I have this issue with Cooper and Bonnie. It’s kind of an ongoing struggle tbh. With mine it’s more chasing in anticipation of getting food, so I have to be very careful about how I dole out the treats. I have to hand them to them at the same time, and I try to make sure they aren’t actively chasing when I give the food (so they aren’t getting…[Read more]

How long have you had him?
The best thing to do is just ignore him when he does this. Eventually he will learn that you aren’t going to try to “get” him.
With my super timid buns I will spend time near them but focus on something else (like I’ll watch videos on my phone or read). It’s a way to show them that even though you are near them, you…[Read more]
