Is it the recycled newspaper pellet litter that you are using?  I don’t use that kind of litter, but in a Google search just now, I found an old post (from 2015) where the poster was using All Living Things paper pellet litter from Pet Smart and it contained small pieces of sharp plastic, pieces of dried paint, pieces of latex and other things…[Read more]

That must have been very scary for you, I’m glad that your rabbit survived the shock. In terms of injury, burns around and in the mouth are pretty common. It seems like she received quite a decent shock so there’s potential for internal injuries to organs, a blood test may reveal that but it could also be too early to show anything like…[Read more]

Well would ya look at that! Awesome!

As for reciprocal groooming, it doesn’t always happen right away, and in many pairs the grooming does tend to be a bit more one sided. My sense is that the reciprocal grooming happens once they are completely done sorting out their dominance. So in this case, Dorian might not groom until he’s sure Miu isn’t…[Read more]

Thank you both. The vet seemed reluctant to start on Panacur, I can only assume due to lack of other symptoms. He has stopped eating tonight though and is showing signs of pain. Fortunately I’m able to look through the security camera footage and it hasn’t been very long since he ate recently, so will see how he goes overnight and ring our vet in…[Read more]

It’s ood thaat you’ll be taking her to the vet. There’s  not a lot ou an do now since she is eating and acting seemingly normal. Hopefully she’ll be ok but the vet should check for burns inside the mouth.

As for vaccinaation you should ask your vet. A spay normally takes 2 weeks to fully heal.

Please help, my bunny got electrocuted! i woke up in the middle of the morning like at 4 and heard my bunny squealing and doing excessive movement, at first i thought she was having a seizure until i discovered she had chewed on a big cable (my room is bunny proofed but she somehow got near a cable and i have no idea how, but i’ll be extra c…[Read more]

Thanks for your feedback! I should have mentioned that he is free to roam the majority of the house for all of my waking hours (6am to 10pm) and is in his enclosure at night. I put up the pen as a wall barrier to the lounge room which contains a lot of plants that could potentially harm him, so he has a lot of space to roam.

I’ll try the sheet t…[Read more]

We had a good 2hr date yesterday, and the plan was to repeat it and maybe add an hour if they both seemed happy.  Well here we are 8hrs later and Miu is washing Dorian.  I don’t think they are bonded yet, as I don’t see Dorian reciprocating yet. He may have when they were napping together as it sort looked like it, but I couldn’t really see w…[Read more]

Remember that play pens are things we humans place to restrict a rabbit’s access. For a rabbit, a play pen is this weird thing that allows them to see the other side but for some frustrating reason they aren’t able to get to the other side from where they are (e.g., all the instances of rabbits chewing their play pen even though it’s open).…[Read more]

My little buns has been chewing and shaking his play pen when I let him out of his enclosure. Sometimes I give him more space to roam but he will still go and chew and try to move it. He doesn’t chew or shake his enclosure though when he’s in there. Is there something I can do to stop this? I’ve tried clapping and telling him no or I’ll move hi…[Read more]

I’m back! Lots of great updates!

I did salad dates through the baby gates for about 1.5 weeks before I couldn’t take it anymore and started face to face dates again. Salad dates were going well and nobody was having issues with seeing the others as they ate.

I cleared out my dining room which isn’t totally neutral since it’s kitty corner from…[Read more]

No experience to report and will be interested if anyone will be able to chime in with any.

Hi everyone! I use a recycled newspaper brand for litter for my rabbits. The past couple of bags I’ve opened have had various pieces of plastic. At least that’s what it feels like to the touch. Some pieces are produced in the litter pellets and some are in the bag on their own. I can’t seem to find anything online about what it could be. Has anyon…[Read more]
