Maybe you could configure their salad into an “edible arrangement”?

A more important question is why they are getting so dirty in the first place?
The best thing is to make sure his litter box is kept clean, and over time the stains will go away.
If he is having soft poops that are sticking to him, that indicates an issue with his diet or another medical issue.
You also should never use soap on a rabbit, and…[Read more]

I agree that he is much too young for veggies. Cauliflower and cabbage especially are known to cause gas and should not be fed to rabbits. He could be having a build up of gas that is causing him pain.
Keep pushing hay and water, and encourage him to move around gently. You can also give him a gentle tummy rub.
That said, not pooping for 3 hours…[Read more]

My senior bun got like this too. I agree it would be good to have him checked out by a rabbit savvy vet to rule out urinary issues and adrenal issues.
My bun got a clean bill of health, but I also found that his mounting gets way worse when I feed him parsley or dandelion, so I’ve pretty much cut those out of his diet.
The other thing you can do…[Read more]

Not to pile on, but I also think I remember that some states stopped routinely testing suspected RHDV cases once it was confirmed in the state. Basically the testing was aimed at initial detection, not ongoing monitoring.

Hi, so I took Peanut to my vet because she had dark yellow and brown scabs all on her mouth. She was eating fine and acting normal. I thought it was sphyilis right off because the scabbing looked identical to pictures online. So when the vet saw her he said that she had a tooth infection somewhere and that she was over salivating causing chapped…[Read more]

Blossom and Thumper’s got’cha day is coming up (May 6th) and I was wondering if anyone can help me figure out what to do for them. It’s going to be their 4th year with us and they’re 4 years old. (They came from the auction so I don’t know when their exact b-day is but I know it’s sometime from late February to early March, we got them when they…[Read more]

Update: turns out that discharge was just from the abscess bursting! She’s doing really well now, so I think we will continue this treatment and work to get her back to hay and veggies soon. Still, I will report everything to the vet at her follow up just in case. Thank you all!

If he’s eating Timothy hay, that’s positive and it’s a small window of time so at this point I wouldn’t be too concerned over lack of poop; however, the diet you outline is concerning and can be contributing to constipation.
He should not be in any veggies whatsoever at his age. His stomach is not ready to break those down.
Please see here for…[Read more]

Thanks Dana! It was a bit better today. Also they are getting more snuggly by the day. There’s been a lot more grooming, mostly from Dorian, but Miu usually reciprocates.
Thanks @GlennTheLionhead!

I have a 6-8week old Holland Lop. He was purchased last week from a pet store. I’m concerned that he isn’t pooping enough. I’ve been watching him since around 8am and now it is 11am and he has not pooped. He is eating a little, he’s eating his Timothy hay. I havent introduced any pellets yet and he has some cauliflower and Napa cabbage last ni…[Read more]

Is the poop still stuck or is it just staining? If it’s just staining I would leave it. Rabbit poop should not get stuck to their fur, but if they are getting poop stuck and pee stains all the time it can be an indication of several things: poor diet, diet litter tray or unsuiitable litter, health problem.
If the poop is no longer stuck, the…[Read more]

RHDV is my first thought too. It can stay present in the environment for a very long time and there are commonly no symptoms or very limited symptoms for a very short time before death. Beyond that some sort of environmental toxin is a very likely candidate. Ideally one of their livers should have been sent away for testing for RHDV, but I imagine…[Read more]

Hello!
Does anyone have tips on how to clean a rabbits bum? Mine is extremely dirty, I’m not even kidding. There are poop and pee stains on his butt, I have tried washing it off with hot water and soap many times and it’s still there and his butt is still broen. I have no idea how I’m going to be able to get rid of those. I thought of maybe…[Read more]
