I’m in Australia where the disease has been for a very long time as well as vaccination (for some of the strains). I vaccinate my pair every year (the current recommendation is I believe for every 6 months with the Cylap vaccine in Australia but yearly is enough for me). As my pair get older if I start to see a negative reaction to the vaccine I…[Read more]

Hi all, I’m a little lost as to what to do next with my very stubborn and sensitive bunny.
She is a rescue and we don’t know exactly how old she is. But the vet said she looks pretty young “inside” when he spayed her.
She has been prone to shutting down. Any stress or change of season (i.e., change of hay quality) will trigger some sort of shut…[Read more]

Do you know if the lawn is free from pesticides? Besides the worry of those, there is also a worry of toxic weeds or plants in the garden that your rabbit can ingest. And, there is also a risk of Glenn picking up parasites from the lawn – fleas, ticks, worms, etc. If you are in an area where RHDV2 is present, or even if there are no known c…[Read more]

I would move and then get settled in before considering adopting again. It will also allow you to settle into your residency training and get a better sense of your routine to ensure you are able to make time for them. If you are working long hours the best thing is to adopt a bonded pair so that they can keep each other company too 🙂
I work…[Read more]

Omg, Jupiter is adorable! He looks like a Teddy or possibly a Teddy/Lionhead cross to me.
I cant say what age he could be. Obviously if he keeps growibg and gaining weight, he’s young. Do you know if he is neutered or can you see his testicles?

Hey guys! I just bought a rabbit recently.. I thought he was a young bunny but I’m not sure what breed and how old? He weighs around 1 and 3/4 of a pound and I understand it’s hard to tell with pictures but if anyone can tell me what breed he looks like and age or point me into that direction that would be great! Thanks 🙂 his name is Jupiter

Hello All, I think many of you helped me when my bun had cecal dysbiosis after a GI stasis recovery. I am still recovering from the trauma and started seeing a psychologist.
My situation is a little different now. I am finishing my medical school and waiting for the residency result. Possible that I will be moving to another province. I was…[Read more]

So this will be a short thread!
I popped them into a neutral space today, thinking even for 5 minutes just to see if they’d ignore each other even. But no, fur flew within 60 seconds – literally, clumps on the floor even though I separated immediately. It’s hard to tell who instigated but I think it was Phil as she seemed more aggressive but I…[Read more]

Azerane replied to the topic Bunny with heart disease in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 5 months ago
Luna (7 and 1/2) has a heart problem that was diagnosed early last year. She has moderate mitral valve regurgitation, meaning that some of the blood flowing out of her heart flows back into it as it is pumping. This means her heart is ever so slightly enlarged. She also has severe kidney disease which can affect the heart with fluid building up…[Read more]

Sorry, just RE the attention she did get as a solo bun:
Nightly rub sessions of 1-2 hours where she’d lie up beside my partner and he’d rub her while we watch a show (or any time he’s home she would do the same).
I play chasing with her (her favourite game, weirdly) and tug of War or organising, and arrange things like sheets and boxes so she…[Read more]

Thanks for your feedback.
We’re on day 6 now and things are MUCH calmer. If he takes her by surprise for any reason, she will get into an aggressive stance and grunt but otherwise, doesn’t react anymore to his movements and he has his tunnel back now without issue. I’ve been swapping litter trays, a stuffy, and blankets but not entire areas. She…[Read more]
