It could be a UTI. Do you ever see her strain to pee? Has this been going on for as long as you’ve had her?

You were a child. You’re still very young. You have quite evidently learnt a lot and you seem very mature in your thinking.

Many of us have had rabbits when we were children, and many of us have regrets over how those rabbits weren’t given optimum care. This is a story that so many rabbit loving people have in common.

Thank you for telling us…[Read more]

I have an almost 3month old holland lop doe. She’s very active and adventurous so she’s seldom still unless she’s sleeping or laying dow for a few minutes. I got her about a month ago and realize that she’s sometimes after she pees her butt is still wet. It’s easy to notice since I have wooden floors and she leaves a wet mark. Just now I was petti…[Read more]

Is always very challenging being a child trying to do or beat for an animal but being too early on parents who may have conflicting opinions on care and what is important. I think you are definitely being too hard on yourself, I understand being upset about it but everything I’m reading shows you are a compassionate and caring owner always trying…[Read more]

Note: I apologize in advance if this type of question is not allowed or unwelcome on these forums

It has been almost 2 months since my rabbit Freedom, has passed away. But for a majority of her life, I feel like I used to neglect her.

For context, my parents asked me if I wanted rabbits when I was young(10 years old or younger) and I said yes.…[Read more]

That is super normal behavior! And a sign that switching hutches should help! 🙂  It should help with Molly’s anxiety to be able to really get used to Owen’s scent. I know they have been around each other, but being able to smell the litter box up close is…. different. LOL  On that note, I also usually try to time the swap so the litter boxes a…[Read more]

My holland lop Sage is 1.5 years old. I got her in September. Her previous owners were a family who’s kids no longer had interest in her. When I got her, she immediately took a liking to me. She was obsessed with me always following me around the house. She would get super excited and worked up and make this buzzing noise and give my legs a nudge…[Read more]

Thank you so much for both of your help.

I do plan on bringing Sage to the vet in about a month time. Her condition has been prolonged but she has always remained alert and stable. Her symptoms often subside then act back up. I recently begun working at a new vet hospital which examines rabbits but I must wait the allotted time until my own pet…[Read more]

Whoo, they are not thanking us for switching hutches… Time to bring up our family motto: “There’s nobody who’s more autistic than a bunny…”

Molly is anxious and Owen is just angry that he has less space to run around in. He dragged the fence across the floor and tipped over his water bowl in the process.

I was afraid that he was going to…[Read more]

Hi Courtney, Welcome! I am pretty new to owning buns, so mine are only a few years old. I know with elderly cats grooming is painful, so sure with buns it might be similar. Do you have anything to help with pain? I don’t know if gaberpetin (possibly misspelt) is okay for buns to use, but some bunny safe mild pain meds might help. I would ask this…[Read more]

Hello! It’s been a while, but I had a question. So I’ve never fostered a baby rabbit, so I just wanted to make sure that that I’ll care for a pair of 1 month old rabbits correctly.

so basically, the shelter recently received seven, 1 month old rabbits and I’m going to foster two of them. They are already weaned so do I just feed them pellets…[Read more]

I am so very sorry, it is a horrible decision to make . But the fact it is hard for you tells me any choice you make even if not perfect (because they never are, all we can do is try to make the best) is coming from the right place. If you are not ready right this minute that totally makes sense to me. Maybe talk to your vet and see if they can…[Read more]

I walked through the graveyard and looked at the older stones for name inspiration. For me a name has to fit the bunny and I have a hard time thinking of any with out seeing the bunny. That said I think of bunnies being tied to the moon… so here are a couple in that line

How long have they been bonded? Sometimes it takes a few weeks for litter box habits to return after bonding, and some people even notice an uptick in marking right after they are bonded. Marking around the perimeter of the enclosure does sound territorial.

Aside from that, you might need to go back to box-training basics. There are some tips…[Read more]

We have a bonded pair of rabbits: Persephone, a two-year-old female rex (spayed at six months) and Bugs, a 1.5-year-old male lop (neutered at five months). They have a nighttime enclosure but are free range during the day in our living room. They are both well-loved and well cared for buns with space to run, lots of enrichment, and a spacious…[Read more]

Thank you all for your responses.

As far as her pain level goes, I assume with her tooth abscess it is pretty uncomfortable to eat (hence why she no longer eats hard goods, and her hay intake is very minimal). Also, her tooth as started to shift in her mouth, so sometimes it sounds like she’s chewing on it, and I can see her move her jaw and kind…[Read more]
