I’m in Santa Rosa. Is rehoming permanent or cost money? Do rabbit homes offer better housing than what they have here? One of the bunnies is my girlfriends emotional support animal and it would be a lot to lose them.

There is no shame in rehoming as long as you are sure to find a good home, but personally I think I would reach out to a rescue about having them potentially help out before you go that far. What part of CA are you in? I may be able to help connect you with a rescue org.

So, even large cages are too small for a bun to spend all of its time in. Do you give your rabbits exercise time in a larger area? I think that exercise time in a bunny proofed room for several hours per day is even more important than the size of the cage. I know a lot of vets like to keep a stasis bun until they really see eating and pooping just because many people have a hard time getting enough CC into the bun.

You can give oat hay liberally, but I like to give it in small portions so they don’t just dig through and find all the seeds.

Wheezing and having trouble breathing IS a life threatening symptom. You should absolutely take him to the vet.

He likely has a respiratory infection that can be treated with antibiotics. Allergies should only be assumed when all possible infections have been ruled out (usually through a culture and multiple antibiotics).

It’s not recommended to house rabbits and guinea pigs together due to Bordatella risk (a bacteria that guinea pigs can carry).

So you should set up separate areas for them. It’s OK if they are in the same room, but stacking them on top of each other would be risky.

I ordered 20 more cubes of those metal grids which if I did my math right thats 69 of them and the Guinea pigs cage right now is 5 ft x 2 ft im wondering if I could build ontop of that for the bunny and if she gets bigger and needs more support for the cage I can switch them so the pigs are on top?

They have. No spurs or anything. He did have a very slight UTI before this happened but it cleared up quickly. So I’m not sure if that could have set this off.
