How long has it been since he ate?
If he hasn’t eaten since his dinner last night, then you should consider this an emergency (he could be fully in stasis) and get him to the vet ASAP.
You can try giving him gas drops and another tummy rub while you are waiting to get to the vet, but if it really has been since last night since he atea anything…[Read more]

Just catching up on this, sorry he’s still up and down.
I saw back in the thread that he had a dental a year ago? Did he improve after that? If so it could just be that he due for another one? Just wondering how thorough his check up was. Sometimes even a tiny spur will make a bun get really picky about food, and pain in itself can cause gut…[Read more]

I went to feed my bun his pellets this morning, and usually he’s very excited, but today he just stayed in his spot and didn’t come up to his food. I held a pellet up to his mouth and he turned away, also pushed his stomach to the floor. I tried giving him a freeze dried banana, he ate half of it, but now won’t eat any more of it.
He ate his p…[Read more]

*sigh*
Feeling deflated, Glenn is still a bit up and down, polished off his breakfast of salad and pellets this morning but now is a bit meh, reduced appetite again.
I got to the vets today but my train ended up being 20 minutes late so I missed my appointment but because I was there the vet squeezed us in but could only see us for a quick 5…[Read more]

For the sake of my sanity too… They suddenly had a fight yesterday 😔 Lucky it was very easy to break them up: just a HEY! and a tap on the back stopped them enough so I could separate them.
Before that there was some chasing going on, and I was filming it because I wanted to ask people here: is this still acceptab….? oh SH…!!@ Well, there I…[Read more]

Snoa made herself a perfect little nest today, most likely in an effort to celebrate the start of summer.

Ellie, they’re so adorable together! They’d better bond, if only for the sake of aesthetics 🥰🐰🐰

Oxbow actually mentions you can freeze CC to extend shelf-life, but too many freeze-thaw cycles can break down the nutrients too much.

I’ve talked with Bas today to see some positives in the situation that happened yesterday.
They were easy to separate with a tap on the back and didn’t hurt me or each other. When they’re chasing too roughly it’s usually enough when I stand up or calmly say: whoa, calm now…
They groomed each other as usual yesterday evening: through the bars…[Read more]

I’m glad to hear he’s being somewhat active now! A flop is wonderful! And it’s great that you could give him meloxicam and some water. Massage is great too 👍
It pretty much impossible to think when you have a poorly bun. When my bun Vilde fell acutely ill I had to email the vet after just a cpl of hours because Id completely forgot what they’d…[Read more]

Thanks so much for that info and for explaining it again! Now re-reading your post before I see you did actually mention it there but in the stress of looking after a sick bun it can be hard to think straight at times lol.
So I went for the older dog meloxicam, it says it stays good 6 months after opening which its still within… I had a vet…[Read more]
