Thank you very much. The thing is here in Aus most rabbit savvy vets don’t actually prescribe probiotics because they don’t believe there’s enough scientific evidence proving it works.

So I’ve just had to do my own research after one random vet recommended it.

Ill contact protein and find out more.

Oh can I ask a few more questions.

Was your bunny able to eat a range of veggies before it started to get unwell by them.

Which veggies did you start with and how much?

In the end which veggies didn’t make her tummy upset?

What veggies does she eat now?

Which pellets did you feed her?

Please let me know if anyone thinks they can see an egg- I’ve googled it but never seen them on a rabbit before myself.

She does get little shards of hay and forage occasionally stuck in her fur because she has very teddy bear like fur that sticks to everything but shes great at cleaning these off and they don’t ever develop into matts 🙂

quick update:

it’s been an incredibly frustrating 48 hrs. I must have phoned about 15 different vets but their ether fully booked or don’t do anything with rabbits beyond the basics.

The rabbit specialist vets won’t give out advice over the phone and are all too far away for me to get to.

Stasis recovery can be slow, it really depends on the case. And agree with Bam, some weird poops are normal, but it’s important that she’s pooping. I also just had a rabbit go through a bad bout of stasis after not owning a bunny who went through this in a while. My bunny was the opposite and had appetite for pellets upon coming home from the vet but wouldn’t eat her greens! Fir is safe unless it’s quite fresh and made into sawdust or similar. Fresh fir kan give off terpene-fumes. Yep, I think I just replied to this same question in the other thread. I don’t use a grid but I do use a screen. Make sure the grid isn’t hard on her feet, as it can lead to hock issues and also discourage her from using the box.

Peeing on the hay is normal. They will pick through and find good pieces. I usually offer hay in a rack as well as in the box to make sure they always have some clean hay available.

Sometimes buns will get some hay dust in their nose and start sneezing, so I’m guessing that was what happened in this case. Of course I didn’t see what happened, but from your description this doesn’t sound like a choking incident.

My bunny had the same problem but when I stopped for a few months had her just hay and pellets, and tried again slowly she had soft poops so I had just romaine and about 1/4 leaf for a week and than she was getting better 2 years later and her diet is mainly veggies

I had a bun who was on long term high-dose meloxicam. I gave it together with ranitidine, later pepcid when raditidine was withdrawn. This was to avoid gastric ulceration, which is a concern with long term meloxicam.

My bun seemed fine on his daily meloxicam.
