I hope your bun’s leg is ok now! They can of course hurt ligaments and muscle in their legs if they take a “bad” jump -hopefully this was nothing serious!
Emeraid is recovery food and comes as a maintenance variety and an emergency variety. It’s the maintenance one that Dana has been using, with great results. It’s similar to Oxbow Critical Care,…[Read more]

Thanks everyone. Today things aren’t much better. When I entered the room there was a few episodes of chasing (Eloise always chasing Pen). Penelope has been hiding under a blanket for over an hour today š I think it’s because it’s the only way Eloise will leave her alone and not chase her. My husband went in and checked on Pen, and she did use…[Read more]

I know it, I feel so bad for all she has been through already, she needs a break. Yeah that is what the veterinarian was pretty much saying to me. Budja’s has been back at home for 3 days now, she has a re-check coming up this Friday. I am currently giving her injectable penicillin for 21 days and we are waiting on the results of the bacteria…[Read more]

There is a type of seizure similar to this where they are “frozen” and their eyes are wide open. They do not lose consciousness during they type of seizure. Here is something from Medirabbit that explains the differences: http://www.medirabbit.com/EN/Neurology/Metabolic/Seizures_en.pdf

Iām hoping to have a question answered. I bought bunny treats made from Timothy hay and rice that look like little logs. Are these safe to give to my bunnies?

I have a senior Bun (12-13 yo mini Rex mix) that I just started feeding Oxbow Senior (per my small animal vet) as he is losing weight. Wish I would’ve known to do this sooner; you are smart to start early! I’m looking for ANYTHING to put weight on him so reading up on this post… I have heard about Emeraid as DanaNM mentions but my vet did not…[Read more]

Some of the aggression is sparked when I come into their room, but other times I can’t seem to find a pattern. It doesn’t seem related to any objects.
I did couples therapy in the bathtub, and they did huddle together and there was grooming from Eloise to Penelope, but not vice versa. It’s interesting that Eloise is doing a lot of chasing, but is…[Read more]

Considering the initial vet visit only included a general physical, I do not think you need to worry about CHF at this time– The signs of CHF in rabbits (as noted on MediRabbit) are quite vague, so unless your rabbit has shown poor cardiac health in the past, I think it’s more likely to exercise other causes first, such as a choking episode that…[Read more]

Poor little guy š
I don’t have any experience with congestive heart failure in buns, but I think getting some imaging is the correct next step. Some of the other moderators may have more insight.

Hello everyone, I need some help as I’m completely unsure what is going on with my little boy who is about 9 years old.
About a week and a half ago my little guy had a strange episode or fit that lasted about 5 minutes. During this episode he seemed panicked and disorientated while his posture changed to being almost completely on the floor,…[Read more]
