He was given a buprenorphine injection yesterday at his visit but none sent home, I will definitely reach out to them again and obtain some. Thank you, I have been using the big syringe to give 5mL but will go back to 1mL syringe. I definitely had more success with that when I initiated CritCare before. Thank you so much for these suggestions,…[Read more]

Ah that is frustrating! Were you logged in to the store when this happened? Maybe you got logged out and so it’s not showing up, but will show up if you log back in?
This is mostly for issues with the forum itself, but I’ll pass this message along to the appropriate people!
You can also use the contact form in the store to mention this issue.

DanaNM replied to the topic Timothy hay get wasted! in the forum DIET & CARE 3 years, 9 months ago
Good point about using a hay rack or feeder! I have a little system where I put fresh hay in the hay rack, and then the old picked over hay from the rack goes into the box. They tend to prefer to eat the hay from the litter box, so they will actually eat some they may have passed over the first time once it’s in the litter box.

He is probably a bit sore. It’s good he’s eating and pooping normally. Can you inspect his sutures to make sure they look ok?

DanaNM replied to the topic GI Stasis in the forum DIET & CARE 3 years, 9 months ago
Is he on any pain medication? Pain management is really important for stasis treatment in rabbits, as the pain can cause their gut to continue to slow down. Especially with reglan, which can cause cramping and discomfort.
Has he been pooping at all?
Stasis recovery can be slow, so gentle supportive care is important. It is scary when they won’t…[Read more]

Hello all,
This is my first time going through GI stasis with my bunny; my other baby has had episodes but they always resolved in 4-6 hours max. I read up on stasis vs blocks and was asking for my bun’s temp, blood sugar, and for X-rays. The vet told me by physical exam he is not having a block and looks rather well. I felt my bun’s abdomen and…[Read more]

Her carrier came! Itās pretty big but good for her I think as her poor ears donāt get squashed when she stands up and thereās good room for Tyb as well š

When I first got my buns I had the same concern. All my money going down the drain!!
I bulk buy hay (like 10lbs) from a local rabbit rescue which saves some money, especially since they always pick and choose for that *perfect* piece. I’ve cycled through different hays and the unanimous decision is they prefer oat hay. I also rotate with some…[Read more]

My boys just got neutered Wednesday of this week.
they seem to be doing good. I have given them 2 days of calmness, resting time in their cages.
I am noticing one of my rabbits is just acting like the character eeyore. He is eating, drinking, peeing and pooping just fine
the other one seems to not be as slow to moving around in his…[Read more]

It’s good she’s good in all other ways! If it was dental you would likely see some food selectivity (such as eating less hay but still eating veg and pellets). As for other issues I’m not sure! I know it’s worse when a bun is drinking a lot but NOT peeing a lot… so it’s good she’s peeing! It’s tricky because buns hide their symptoms so well, so…[Read more]

Yeah this sounds like an awful situation. With regards to heating and hot water, I have ended up in this situation before due to the place I live. If you have the chance in the future, I would recommend grabbing some leggings, long sleeves, a very warm hat, and gloves. Wearing them inside can really help. What I did with gloves is just cut off the…[Read more]

I’d be worried about putting them outside due to predators getting to them š I’d agree with others – maybe a quieter place in the home? Is it possible? Cats, stray dogs, etc. roam around at night. Even if they couldn’t get to the bunnies, they could be scared enough by them if something tried to get them, that it could cause them harm. Sorry you…[Read more]

Wasn’t sure if it’s ok to submit issues with the store here. Spent some time building up the cart. When I finally when back to make the purchase the cart was empty. Figured they might want to be aware of things like that. I don’t even remember what I had in the cart any longer.

I might try and book her in for a check up, especially nervous about this as a bonder is taking her and Tyb on Tuesday to finish off their bonding for me!
she does pee A LOT like I can hear it shoot out of her, is that weird? Sheās always peed quite a lot though tbh and itās always been loud before it gets soaked up by the litter. She weighs aro…[Read more]

Yeah that does seem like a lot…. is she also peeing a lot? How much does she weigh? Normal range is around 50-150 ml/kg/day… so her intake would only be in the normal range if she weighed ~13 kg!
Dental issues can cause a lot of drinking, diabetes and kidney disease also come to mind.Ā Especially since this is a more recent development I…[Read more]

Freya has been drinking water like thereās no tomorrow! As a giant I obviously always expected her to drink more than Tybalt but I just watched her drink her whole bowl as soon as I filled it up which is about 400mls.

Many buns are not good candidates for 100% free roam, but there are alternatives other than putting them outside. Can you enclose them in a pen indoors at night? If you hang sheets or blankets over the pen walls that usually helps with bar chewing.
