When they approach each other to request grooms, try petting them on the head when they go nose to nose. Even with buns that don’t like pets, this will still sometimes make them think the other rabbit is grooming them if you time it right. If not, then it breaks up the interaction so it doesnt escalate.
And basically to end on a neutral or a good…[Read more]

Thanks a lot for your advice! The biting incident was five weeks ago. We will try the car ride as you instructed. About bunnies calming down after a scuffle, should we just prevent them going near each other for a little while or would it work to put them on their carrying baskets facing each other?
On last date on Monday (before reading your…[Read more]

I’ve heard this with my buns too, I think it’s normal. 🙂

I think your bun will be fine with your mother! Since he’ll be in hus own home, he wont feel insecure like he would in a totally new place. He’ll have his own stuff and food and your mum will likely be nice to him!
You can write a list with stuff he can eat and shouldnt eat, amount of daily pellets (if he gets pellets), how often to change the…[Read more]

Hello! Hope everyone is doing well!
I have a question about vacations and bunnies. I’m considering a trip out of the country but I was worried about leaving my Elmer. If I were to go it would be for 2 weeks and my mom would stay at my place to watch everyone while im gone.
How do I prepare my rabbit for me to be gone for that long? Will he e…[Read more]

How old is your rabbit? If he’s very young, this could be an emergency (ie true diarrhoea).
If he’s not young, this could be mucus from the intestine, which would mean an irritated intestinal lining. I’d cut out the carrot pure, since carrots have a lot of sugar. When you’ve pure something, its easy to happen to eat too much of whatever it is…[Read more]

Hello everyone. I’m very concerned about my male rabbit having any digestive problems. Earlier he was licking his blanket and when I looked I saw a yellowish spot that was also quite slippery in texture. I don’t know what this is or what to do right now to help him. I recently changed his hay from oxbow to small pet select and he also takes sup…[Read more]

Good choice. I think that the stress of a new environment is worse than a little loneliness. He’ll be so happy to see you when you’re back in your room though. I would just make sure he’s got plenty of toys to keep himself entertained.

It is smooth and SUPER hard. If you look real close it has little yellow crust like things on the corners. I have no idea what this is.

Thank you for your reply.  Im taking the snake oil idea as being a bandaid.  And yes topical would be the idea, to spray it around the eye. This stuff came with a sprayer so orally wouldn’t be in the question.
Of course. I have thought about this as well. I did not know they could flush the tearducts? That is a good thing. I have to f…[Read more]

My opinion – Colloidal silver is pretty much snake oil. It has antibacterial properties, but it isn’t the cure-all that it has been hyped up to be. Is it safe? Well, I guess it depends. Topical is probably harmless, but I would advise against giving it orally to rabbits.
The bigger question here is what is causing the weeping? Is it an infection?…[Read more]

I’m going to leave him in my room. He doesn’t know my sister that well and the one time she held him she dropped him. She’s 22 so I can trust her not to touch him. The hallway is bright and the cage would be smaller. He wouldn’t be around any new animals but our dog might be able to see him. It’s only for 5 days but I worry about him getting l…[Read more]

It’s smooth looking. Maybe a cyst?

TBH, I think leaving him where he is would be best. He may not get as much attention, but it won’t be for that long. Only a few days. It doesn’t seem like the stress and hassle of moving him for such a short time period would be worth it.

LBJ10 replied to the topic What breed is my rabbit? (I think I know I just need confirmation lol) in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 3 years, 8 months ago
Yes, the broken gene has been introduced into many breeds. English spot isn’t a common breed in the US. Considering his size and, how should I put this, compact body shape?, I’d say he’s probably a mix between a lionhead and a medium sized breed.
