I’m going to guess the hay that is currently available is a different cutting and it just tastes different. I agree with Wick. Try not the reinforce picky behavior.

I would give a little more time with a new bag and just leave it out there for her. The vet did tests and x-rays and stuff but never mentioned anything more than the fact that Barney was going in GI stasis and there was gas built up in the GI tract so if there was something else going on, the vet wasn’t able to find and properly diagnose it and in his final moments he was showing signs that he was in quite a bit of pain and after…[Read more]

I went and got her a different bag of hay this morning and she’s barely eating from this one either.

It is thought that when they scream in the final moments like that they have already lost consciousness, so it may be slightly comforting that he was probably not in a great deal of pain.

Yes he will be fine! I’ve often had to take my buns to a pet sitter’s house for anywhere from one to three weeks. They are much more adaptable than you’d expect. 🙂

It’s only an hour each way. As long as you keep the setup the same, he should be OK staying there for 3 weeks and then going back.

And he’d be fine moving back up here after the 3 weeks are over? Sorry, just double checking to make sure i don’t misinterpret!
