Sounds like some vigorous flicking of the feet in anticipation of some grooming.

A single exposure probably isn’t going to do anything, especially if the bunny was just in the vicinity. Long-term exposure though is probably not good for them.

I agree. He’s pooping everywhere because he is marking. Once he is neutered, this should improve his litter habits because he won’t feel as strong of an urge to mark. Keeping him in a smaller area until he is neutered is probably for the best.
And yes, bunnies are notorious for “never doing that one thing” until they do! It always happens when…[Read more]

It wouldnt be good for your bun to be exposed to a lot of vaping, say every day. But on an isolated occasion it’s not likely to have caused you bun any sort of damage.

A friend came over and I found out they were vaping around my rabbit. Will she be okay or is that toxic to rabbits or anything? I dont really know much about vaping but I know smoking and things like that are bad for rabbits to be around.

DanaNM replied to the topic Are my rabbits too old to bond? in the forum BONDING 3 years ago
Not too old! I’m assuming they are all spayed/neutered? The only thing that really matters is whether they are all healthy, and to keep a close eye on stress levels as you go through the process. When I have bonded seniors I take things a little more slowly to make sure no one gets overly stressed.
New spaces are definitely helpful for bonding…[Read more]

Thank you so much for the advice. Mowgli had his treatment today, and they did find a few spurs, so hopefully that was the problem and he will be back to full appetite soon.

Age is generally not concern. Just keep in mind that the process can be stressful so as long as the rabbits are healthy and things aren’t interrupted by vet visits, I see no problem w/ it. Just keep in mind that grieving is something rabbits do, to varying degrees, when a bonded mate passes.

I have had all 3 of my rabbits for going on 7-9 years (my oldest will be 9 in September). Unfortunately, when I got my first two rabbits, I wasn’t as knowledgeable as I am now. With this being said, “bonding” them was a failure, and since then, they have not been housed/allowed to roam together. My 3rd rabbit is her “own” indivudual….. so I do…[Read more]

Did it look like she was flicking her paws? Rabbits do that before and during grooming themselves.
Also congratulations on the new rabbit! Make sure to review the RABBIT INFO tab of the website to get an overview of necessary information. There is a lot of misinformation about pet rabbit care by pet stores and others that can be potentially very…[Read more]

Congrats on the new bun and welcome!
So, for litter training, you will likely continue to see that type of marking until he’s neutered (and his hormones have time to settle, usually about 2-3 weeks). Many buns will also choose to use a digging box as a litter box, so it may be best to remove it until he’s neutered and then try again, or convert…[Read more]
