Yes, I would say abscess too. He will need to see a vet to have it treated.

Hi everyone,
I have two bunnies that I’ve been trying to bond using steps that I have read here, however I don’t think they’re particularly working in my case. I’ve been using a slow & steady approach for about 8 months now.
Bunny#1 (Penelope) is free roam, female, 4 years old, spayed, dominant personality and a rescue that I’ve had since she…[Read more]

Oh my goodness she’s so cute! She reminds me of my bunny Starlight.  🙂 Is she also a double mane lionhead mix?

This looks like sth thst needs veterinary attention. The cause could be several things, it’s not possible to say what withiut a proper exam. If your bun isnt spayed the cause could be hormonal. Another possibility is a bacterial infection. Treatment would differ depending on the cause. It needs to be treated though, because this is most likely…[Read more]

I’m not completely sure what Im seeing here, but it seems to be a rather big bump? In which case my guess would be an abscess, probably from a wound that has got infected. It could have been s very small wound, like a puncture wound from a claw.
Rabbits are prone to abscesses. (An abscess is a pus-filled cavity with thick walls). If it is an…[Read more]

Hi my bunny Flora has something bad going on with her nipple.
Flora is a 6 year old mini rex doe who has never been pregnant. Her nipple was normal on Sunday and today it looks like this. Anyone know what’s going on?
Thank you so much!

Would he eat fresh grass? You would have to make sure it was pesticide-free. Can’t remember if you live somewhere with RHDV or not. I suppose you could always buy potted wheat grass if there are concerns.

They did give him meloxicam to give at home. He won’t eat cc from a plate (I have tried that before). I keep the cc in a closet, is it supposed to be in the freezer? Also he did eat hay before. How long should I wait until I give him cc? Sorry for all the questions I am just worried because he has had GI problems before. ( I know it’s common for…[Read more]

Hay is the most effortful food for a rabbit to eat since it is a sandpaper texture and they grind it before swallowing, so it’s definitely common for it to be the first food to be ignored if there is any mouth discomfort. I’d give it time and just monitor, especially if he’s eating everything else.

His gums could still be sore after the trim. Did you get any metacam for him to give at home?
If he’s eating everything else and seems normal, I dont think you need to syringe feed him just yet. If he’d eat CC from a plate it’d be good, but most buns wont do that. (It’s of course always good to have some CC in the household though, if stored in…[Read more]

Hello, as some of you know my bunny Ollie had his teeth trimming surgery on the fifth. As of now both my bunnies are separated because they are fighting don’t know if this could add to it or not. He is eating treats, pellets and veggies, just not hay. Should I get him some critical care? Or anything else? Is it ok if he isn’t eating hay right now?

Bam replied to the topic Vet cuase rebonding??? in the forum BONDING 3 years, 1 month ago
This happens with cats as well. The cat or bun smells “strange” when they’ve been to the vet. The best thing is to bring both buns to the vet, for simple procedures the vet will probably not mind. I’ll be bringing both my buns when one of them is due for his yearly vaccination in July.
