UPDATE: now she’s eating her veggies like crazy… she’s so back and forth every single day would it make sense to put her down IF she stops eating veggies? I’m beside myself right now, I just lost an 18 year old cat. I can’t imagine losing her too this is beyond difficult and exhausting.

Hello, my rabbit is almost 7 years old and has E Cuniculi, pneumonia and has been having seizures up until yesterday when she started seizure meds. She’s on Tribrissen (for pneumonia) but I’ve already had to stop them once because she just does not eat anything except some veggies here and there. It’s probably been 2 weeks since she’s really…[Read more]

I have a 4 year old female (Opal) who’s 4 year old male partner passed away in December 2022. She immediately became depressed so I attempted to bond her with another male in January 2023. I attempted bonding every single day for multiple hours a day but ultimately this pairing did not work out because the male kept hurting her (ripped her e…[Read more] -

Yes! It was stressful but they were sooo cute!!
It’s so hard to avoid the temptation, I have backtracked on what I had in my head so many times out of being impatient lol.

DanaNM replied to the topic What did my bunny poop out ? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 2 years, 11 months ago
It looks like mucus to me (but agree it’s hard to tell from the photo). Mucus in poop is not uncommon with stasis as it can occur when their is irritation to the gut lining. It should resolve as her stasis resolves.
What medications is she on?

Hmm… I can’t imagine grain mites sticking around if their food source is eliminated. Are you sure they are grain mites? They would be super tiny and hard to see…. like less than half a millimeter. Are they attracted to the bedding/litter you are using? What does your bunny have in his enclosure?

A while ago my hamster had a grain mite infestation in his enclosure. His cage is right next to my rabbits in my room. I got rid of them within a few weeks and also did a deep clean of my rabbits cage to be safe. Today I refilled my rabbits water and like 30 mins later it was filled with a TON of the grain mites. Does anyone know if these can hurt…[Read more]

It’s hard to see in the photo. I would say it’s either mucus or a foreign material. Did you squish it to see if it… how should I say this… disintegrated between your fingers? If so, then it is mucus. If it’s a solid piece of something, then it’s foreign material that she ate and then pooped out.

Long story short my bunny has been acting weird and lethargic for a while i took her to the vet and they said she might have gi stasis but they werent sure since she wasnt showing any sign of the cause so ive been giving her critical care and medicine they gave me. I saw on tiktok people giving their bunny gas relief medicine to their buns so they…[Read more] -

I don’t watch too many rabbit youtubers, but I really love the Howcast series by Mary Cotter with Amy Sedaris. They are very helpful and informative videos, and I find them to be very trustworthy! I trust Mary Cotter a lot!

omg ducklings?! that’s great you were able to help them!
And you’re right, at this point the damage to Coop and Bonnie’s bond has been done so might as well keep trying! I’m tempted to do some easy sessions this weekend with mine but I think i’m going to wait till they are settled with the side-by-side pens. Gotta take my own advice!

Sorry for posting so much….
I’ve been watching A LOT of Guinea pig youtubers lately and I want to watch some rabbit youtubers so who’s your favorite rabbit youtuber? I follow Morgan (aka Sincerely,Cinnabun) and I use to watch Hailey (101Rabbits) and watched very few of Lorelai’s (Lennon the Bunny) videos but I’m not big of those 2 for my own…[Read more]

I can totally relate, I read all of that too. Well, it doesn’t hurt to try is what I’ve been thinking, if you’re ok with waiting and adjusting as you go. Maybe it just takes longer and more experimenting with different approaches. That also is the big reason I tried the unconventional, and very slow approach of doing the bonding sessions with a…[Read more]

Thank you! I am still really second guessing whether this is the best thing to do (or whether I should just go back to the way things were). There is a lot of discouraging info online about trios… 😕
I am planning a consult with a bonding person at the rescue here. I think getting an outside perspective on their behavior will be helpful. It…[Read more]
