Yes, they tend to adapt just fine. But I do agree that they can have more trouble with arthritis. Considering his age, this might be a concern. I would definitely look into ways to make things more accessible to him. Jumping up and down from things would be especially hard on the joints.

I’m not really seeing any “swelling”. It looks normal to me considering she is unspayed.

Hi everyone! It’s me again.
Those past 2 weeks i’ve been paying 2x attention to my rabbit’s poop activity because she had an upset tummy and due it i’ve been analyzing more her genitals.
I’ve noticed her v*gina a bit swollen since yesterday, but only on one side. It has little swollen balls too on her private parts’ skin.
She’s around 9 months…[Read more]

I’ve been in contact with my veterinarian this week and we also agreed to keep the basic diet for here. Luckily, she’s been getting better and the soft poops events been getting less and less frequent. But since i’ve been paying more attention on her booty lately, i’ve noticed her genitals a bit swollen :/ i’m going to make a new post talking…[Read more]

If there is big concern about weight, you simply want her eating more calories. You can try and increase pellet amount slightly (depending on her age and ideal weight). If you have access to something like Critical Care in Vietnam (I noticed it’s listed on Lazada), that can be something you provide as a supplemental diet addition for weight gain.…[Read more]

I’m assuming they are both spayed and neutered?
What have you tried in the way of bonding them, and did you have them living side by side at one point? I wonder if confining her to a smaller area would help, as she may feel stressed by having to defend such a larger area from an “intruder”.
I do wonder about medical issues though. There be…[Read more]

I don’t have personal experience, but I know that tripod buns usually get around just fine. Sometimes it’s a bit harder with buns that have arthritis. I think the main tips would be making sure you have soft flooring with good traction, plus all the usual things for recovery from surgery (pain management, supportive care such as syringe feeding if…[Read more]

I’m so sorry for your loss. 🙁
I agree with others that he was quite sick… things can start to cascade quickly. You did amazing with him so I hope you don’t beat yourself up.
If your girl starts to show signs of depression I agree with fostering can be very helpful. I fostered after my Bertha passed. I wasn’t ready to adopt another bun at that…[Read more]

Not personally, but there has been more than one case on the forum. It wouldn’t hurt to check into it, even if it is just to rule it out.

We can of course never know if those two weeks made a big difference for the outcome, but I wouldve been wondering too, and I’m sorry you have to live with that. The saline probably gave him some relief though and it could have prolonged his life.
As for your other bun, try to spend as much time with her as you can. She needs you now that her…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Saline Inhaler Safe? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 2 years, 9 months ago
Nebulizers can be used for bunnies with respiratory issues. One of our members used F10 antiseptic in a nebulizer for her chronic snuffles bun. (This was in the UK). Saline can be used too. Some antibiotics can be nebulized.
Rabbits can have N-acetylcystein, which helps make mucus less thick. I have only administered this orally.
One of my buns…[Read more]

Hey guys! I’ve got a rabbit that unfortunately has a respitory infection that I’ve been treating with antibiotics for 2 weeks now. Unfortunately, his breathing is incredibly labored and he constantly makes noises while breathing. I want to help him out, but I’m not sure what the best option is. Do you guys have any tips? I definitely don’t want to…[Read more]

It certainly could! Have you dealt with adrenal disease in animals before? Or seen any instances like this?

Thank you guys also for your advice throughout all this. I do feel like we would have had a different outcome had we not been left waiting so long for CT results. He had 2 weeks with no treatment (I was nebulising him myself with pure saline) and I’ll forever wonder if they acted sooner, they could have saved him. His heart just gave out in the e…[Read more]
