I agree with Bam that supportive care can go along way. Do his ears feel cold? Do you have any past pain meds you can give him? How is he doing now?

It’s a little hard to tell from the picture but they don’t appear to be red?
Were they covered by a flap of fur? If so that’s more of a callus, so I would just keep an eye on it and try to make her flooring softer.

The total travel time isn’t terrible so that’s good. I wouldn’t worry about letting them exercise, the more important thing is creating a calm enough space that they eat during the layover. You should also have a plan for if you get delayed (such as a cancelled connection). They will likely be ok in the same carrier, but do you have a back-up plan…[Read more]

Hey all,
Here’s the sitch:
- I’m moving from New Hampshire to California with two rabbits and a cat!
- Three hour flight, two hour layover, three hour flight
- Two unbonded rabbits in the same carrier
- In cabin with me and a cat
- Has anyone flown with rabbits before, could you share your experiences?
- Should I be seriously concerned about…

Bam replied to the topic Bun sleeps on back in the forum THE LOUNGE 2 years, 9 months ago
Very young rabbits often like to sleep on their backs. I’ve never heard that it could be harmful in any way. The human should not put the bun on its back, (aka “trancing”), but if the bun itself chooses to lie on its back, it’s fine.

HI GUYSAs you can see, my rabbit enjoys sleeping on his back. If I were to let him lay long enough, he would be asleep rn. I love the way he does it, I just want to know if it can hurt him? But isnt he adorable!!!!!

There arent many things you can do now but to try and keep him warm (to prevent chock), maybe give some water in a syringe if he will take that. Just to tie him over until you can get hold of a vet. Ideally he should have sub q fluids, but most people dont have the equipment for that.
Try to sit with him. He might know you are there and take…[Read more]

AWWWWW I’M SORRY
Rabbits will sometimes just simply ‘stop working’ if they go through something scary or terrifying to them. A simple fall or sound that is perfectly normal to us, could harm and affect the rabbit in some way. Depending on the breed, he may live longer, or it could just be the length of his eventful life. Still, no need to give up…[Read more] -

I have had a hard time working with my new Giant Flemish, Jupiter. I have taught him how to do tricks, not dig on his pee-pads, and even how to not bite things unless I give them to him. I started litter training him because I believed that litter training was one of the easiest things, also I wanted to be able to prove that he didn’t need to be…[Read more]

I think my poor sweet bun is passing away. 😥
It was only two weeks ago that he returned to doing binkies after his dental procedure in April. I was immensely happy to have my bun’s funny character back!
Yesterday, he played and dug. And today, he is completely lethargic and not eating. 😥 Yesterday, I saw him eat hay too. Today, he just…[Read more]

Yep, one day it just magically becomes fun. I agree, a litter screen will perform miracles.

Sometimes bunnies just decide this is a very fun thing to do. Giving her a digging box is a nice idea, and adding a litter box screen should also help with the digging.

Are they 100% sure she doesnt have a molar problem? Drooling and weight loss could indicate she is having enough trouble chewing that she is losing weight. It can be hard to see the back molars without anesthesia or x-rays.
I agree that increasing pellets amounts slightly or adding critical care (or a similar product) to be sure she’s getting…[Read more]

Hello! My 6 y/o FS Holland Lop, Hazel, has just started digging her hay and litter out of her box. First, some history: She lives with her housemate, George, in a 4’x6′ acrylic pen in which they have various options for chewing, and she has been showing happy bun behaviors. She is currently being treated for an abscess at the base of her ear…[Read more]
