I was thinking a similar thing because it looks like there’s a pin sized hole so could be related to fur/whiskers, but it’s def a bump in the skin and not something that can be pulled out. I’m going to take Pumpkin to the vet just to get it checked out 🙂

Can you try giving him a hot water bottle to lay next to? That way he can warm up without being held and he can move away if he feels too warm.

When he was doing that peeing sit thing, he kinda just kept his feet in place and reversed his butt back with his tail up, and he only stayed like that for a few seconds and then he loafed. I tried to do some more massages which he didn’t love but it warmed him up alot so he isn’t shivering but he’s still quite cold and he’s breathing pretty quickly aswell

He’s still shivering and his eyes are basically closed at the moment, I’m trying to keep his ears warm and the rest of him but he still doesn’t want to cuddle… I don’t have a 24/7 pharmacy near here and I can’t drive yet to go there, my dad is asleep but I will try to do more massages and lifting him, I’ll try get him to drink more water aswell

Azithromycin does a better job than some other antibiotics at penetrating bone. That being said, sometimes these infections just keep spreading despite treatment with antibiotics. These cases often end with “chasing” the infection from one spot to the next (i.e. it clears up here, only to surface over there). It doesn’t surprise me that it has…[Read more]

Do you not have a 24-hr pharmacy? What you are describing does sound like gas. An episode of gas can lead to stasis if the pain/discomfort lasts too long and they don’t eat. When you say he is squatting, do you mean he looks like he is (unsuccessfully) try to do a push up? A lot of times people describe it as a similar motion to a person who can’t…[Read more]

I saw him drinking water a few minutes ago, hes also come to sit closer to me where I can touch him. His ears are cold but I can’t really feel him shivering. He’s still rearranging himself alot though.Â

Hi there, I just came across this website whilst panic searching for different reasons why my rabbit isn’t feeling that well. It’s pretty obvious that hes uncomfortable to say the least, and I really don’t know what to do. I thought it was gas at first because I heard noises from his tummy, and when I looked it up, I was still pretty sure it was g…[Read more]

Sugarfree squash seems to have artificial sweeteners, and while aspartam and saccharine are not toxic to rabbits, I think theyre best avoided. Xylitol must definitely be avoided because it is toxic to rabbits. (Xylitol is sometimes called birch sugar in ingredient lists).
I think I’d rather soak the pellets in orange or apple juice to make bunny…[Read more]

For the past year my vet and I have been trying to get Budja’s better . She had a reoccurring abscess on her cheek and needed surgery a few times to get it under control. This was my original post regarding the abscess and what happened for those who don’t know about it. I believe my rabbit is having dental issues and has developed an abcess |…[Read more]

Hi guys!
I bought a new brand of pellets for my rabbits and they hate them and I was in bad books 😂
I was wondering if it was safe to soak them in sugar free squash and then bake/dry them to use as treats?

So, the last week or so I’ve been working with the buns again. Not exactly daily, but maybe 5 out of the last 7 days. Started with 15 min sessions for each pair, lots of petting. Now am at 30 min sessions for the M-F pairs and 30 min- 1.5 hrs for the girls.
The sessions with Cooper and Myra are great. They snuggle and groom each other almost the…[Read more]

It does sound like maybe the litter box is too small, or the edge is too low.

You are correct in that it would be difficult to bond before she is spayed. I was in this situation and I ended up driving (I had 4 rabbits and a cat). I would be a bit concerned about traveling with an unspayed rabbit and an unbonded companion, especially because of the lack of control you have while flying. I wonder if you could take them on…[Read more]

It’d be a bit weird to get a bump in the same spot on both cheeks unless it’s sth natural. Rabbits can get bumps around small tufts of hair that are attached at the base. These are called giant compound hair follicles: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Hair

The bump is on the skin below his eye, one bump on each side.
