That’s true. The ones I’m thinking of aren’t very high up, but I guess they could potentially get a foot stuck.

I recommend reading these guidelines for appropriate bunny housing:

    https://binkybunny.com/infocategory/house-rabbit-habitats/

Rabbits are very active, regardless of size, so even small rabbits need a lot of space. I recommend using something that will not only keep the buns in, but keep the dog out in case she gets into their room. Many people…[Read more]

Yeah my concern would be that if the bun chewed a hole, that could create a risk of injury if bun’s foot slipped through.

It really depends on how much you are able to spend time with him and his personality. If he seems content and you are able to spend lots of time with him, then he will be OK.

You may consider adopting a senior. At 7 he could still have many years left, and there are often many senior rabbits in shelters that need homes. There is of course the…[Read more]

You could perhaps keep spot cleaning and  hang the blankets on a clothesline or similar, and air them for several hours? Air and sunshine will freshen them up. If you stop spot cleaning and your dad still doesn’t want to wash the blankets, the situation would be worse.

So sorry should this thread be not allowed in this topic. I’m having some issues. Bramble and Honeydew’s fleece blankets in their enclosure need to be cleaned; however since I spot clean, my dad doesn’t want to wash the blankets. Or throw them away. He doesn’t want anything done with them. He says “they’re clean enough for another month”. I try to…[Read more]

I would be calling to make an appointment this week with a vet that specialize with rabbits. Yes she is eating perfectly fine. The bunnies are together. I wish to see a vet as quickly as possible. Does anyone know if most vet takes walk-ins? Should I bring my other rabbit to give her a companion? I will be calling the vet when they open, but if…[Read more]

I’m sorry for your loss. I don’t think there is anything wrong with keeping a single rabbit. I guess it just depends on how attached he was to the other one. If he doesn’t mind being alone, then it shouldn’t be an issue. Our last bunny spent the last 3 years of his life alone. We did try introducing him to a rabbit at a shelter, but he wasn’t…[Read more]

Hi. I’m just looking for thoughts and feelings on keeping a single rabbit.

One of my bunnies died unexpectedly 2 days ago. The remaining rabbit appears to be doing well, he’s still eating normally and interacting with us well. He’s approximately 7yrs old, we’ve had him for 3yrs.

I do not want to adopt another rabbit, the current one I have was…[Read more]

You could try orchard hay. That tends to be a little softer and sweeter, but it is a grass hay. Bunnies love alfalfa because it tastes super yummy to them. But it is also very rich and shouldn’t be fed regularly to adult bunnies. As a treat, I will give my bunny a hay cube with oat and alfalfa hay. He prefers orchard for his regular hay. He’s not…[Read more]

Rabbits prefer alfalfa over grass hay, because alfalfa is richer. It is tricky to wean a bun over from alfalfa to grass hay, but you could cut back gradually on the alfalfa and mix in more and more grass hay. Rabbots can have any grass hay that’s good for horses. This time of year you could also perhaps find some fresh grass -start with smaller…[Read more]

Hello! My mother and I just adopted a bunny, his name is Angel. I’m having a problem…the girl I got him from was pretty young, and from the photos online I could tell he wasn’t eating properly. I’m almost certain she only gave him pellets! So now, he won’t eat any hay!

The only one he’s eating right now is the Alfalfa hay, (he’s under a year…[Read more]

This rabbit is not OK and absolutely needs veterinary attention.

Yes, you should quarantine this rabbit away from yours. This is standard procedure, regardless of the severe ear condition or not. Keep items separate and be mindful of your clothes. It is unknown until any new rabbit is taken to the vet what they may have.

The extent of the ear…[Read more]

    Hello Rabbit Lovers

A friend recused a rabbit from a kindergarten, where it wasn’t being looked after well. She’s gone on holiday and left the rabbit with us for 6 weeks, as we have our own rabbit.

The rescued rabbit was in need of some TLC when it arrived. It’s now developed some growths on its ears and nose… It’s fur isn’t looking great yet.…[Read more]

If they pee on the bed, then you know that your bunnies are just not the kind that can have soft beds. Honestly though, most bunnies don’t seem to care about having something soft to lay on.

My first thought was a change in routine as well. Sometimes bunnies take time to adjust after you have been gone awhile. If the person who was taking care of them was feeding them at different times or giving them extra things, then it can affect how they react to things when you try to go back to their normal routine.
