Welcome! Cute bunnies and kitties! And awesome bunny room! We’re in a studio apartment so we joke that we live in the bunny room and they share it with us.

I also have fish tanks, a betta (Sparkle Pony) in his own 10 gal, a 5 gal shrimp tank, and a 20 gal community with cories, sparkling gourami, and ember tetras. 🙂

OK, good to know. You will have to keep us updated. I’m not horribly familiar with Optixcare, but I don’t think it will cause burning. Even with an infection, some bunnies are still very active. Obviously, this isn’t an emergency. We just wouldn’t want this to fester too long and become worse.

Hi Dana.. it’s so stressful for me, for what happened  to my bunny. I cant literally sleep at night because I’m monitoring him..Now I’m happy that he was eating and pooping normally. I’m just observing his back leg now if there are some improvements.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Weird foot… something wrong? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 5 months ago

Hmm… looking at the photo at the bottom of his foot, it does look like what Dana is describing. Looking from the top though, it does look like his foot is rolled. One way is to feel his foot when he is standing (or at least pushing back against your hand). Does it feel normal when compared to the other foot? Does the bottom of his foot rest flat…[Read more]

It doesn’t look like your photo attached. I would like to see also. It could be molting… it could be self-mutilation.

Welcome to being a new bunny parent, and obsessing over all things! 🙂 I know how you feel!

But I think his foot looks normal to me! If you’re concerned just keep an eye on it, but I don’t see anything alarming at the moment. I’m guessing (completely guessing) that when you got him he still had baby fluff and was likely on a wire bottom cage? And…[Read more]

That must be so stressful, sorry you are dealing with that. 🙁 I’m glad he’s eating and pooping normally. If you haven’t already, you might restrict his space (esp no jumping up and down off of things) and make sure he can get in and out of his litter box easily.

DanaNM replied to the topic Looking for advice on a trio bond that we've been working on for a year in the forum BONDING 6 years, 5 months ago

    Hi there, welcome 🙂

So it sounds like you are working with the easier two currently?

With the long time you’ve been working with them I am a little concerned with how aggressive the little male is still acting. Not saying it’s impossible, but you don’t want to break your current bond in the process. And some buns just aren’t worth the…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Neutered female having phantom pregnancies and bladder mishaps in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 5 months ago

There is definitely a craze after bunnies are spayed/neutered. Typically, this just amounts to them being hyper and destructive. Other hormonal behaviors can also be exhibited though. I do agree with what Bam stated above. Three false pregnancies is very over the top and highly unusual. It does make you wonder if the vet missed the ovaries. Since…[Read more]

Hi! I’m bonding a trio where my 2 neutered males are already bonded and I’m trying to work in my spayed female. I’m well aware that a trio is difficult…it’s been a year and we’re not there yet lol!

My little male is quite aggressive actually that has caused a lot of setbacks. My bigger male is an angel but can’t go in the bathtub because he f…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic “Normal” Baby Bunny behavior?? in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 5 months ago

    He’s a Holland, so I doubt he’ll be too crazy. Maybe… LOL

My Holland is the typical lazy lop. His puberty phase was pretty mild, but everybun is different. They really are like a box of chocolates. 😉

Boys can technically be neutered once the testicles have dropped. Generally, this is around 12 weeks. Some vets may prefer the bunny is a…[Read more]

I could not get an appointment till tomorrow.. he is going at 430 pm tomorrow I was just worried the drops would burn or sting he took them like a champ 🙂 I wanna be clear he is still his usual bunny self.. and does not seem to  be bothered by the goopy eye he was just doing binkys around his room

LBJ10 replied to the topic My bunnys eye is goopy in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 5 months ago

Optixcare is just a lubricating eye drop. So your bunny didn’t see the vet? A thick, goopy discharge suggests something is going on in the sinus and/or tear duct. I would be worried about a bacterial infection. These types of infections are treated with antibiotics. The vet needs to look at them to determine what the cause of the discharge it,…[Read more]

pinkiemarie replied to the topic I'm terrified and I could never cut my rabbits nails in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 5 months ago

Me too! My vet does it. I don’t care that it costs me money! But they aren’t taking nail trim appointments and eventually I maybe have to do it too! But bunny nails never stop growing and the quick will get really long so it’s imperative that you find some kind of solution, whether it’s trying techniques until to find one that works for you or…[Read more]
