I forgot about “white rabbit, white rabbit, white rabbit”! It’s been 9o°f+ here too, my room alone got as high as 82°f and that’s with the ac and fan, but now it’s cooling off some. I’m glad Bonnie is letting you pet her more @DanaNM ! Sorry I didn’t reply to you all separately, I just felt it better to reply like this. I was also gonna vent a…[Read more]

You should go to a vet. Please refrain from self-diagnosing and self-medicating at home, as this can make things worse and also could then limit what a professional can actually do to help.

It’s really hard to know as we can’t see it and aren’t vets. This could be a dental abscess which needs to be treated by a vet.

Yes, thank you for that so I just put her on her back and did a thorough check and she has a fat lip like she has been bitten by a bug… is that something I could just give her Benadryl for to help with the swelling or is that a vet issue?
thank you so much.!.

Buns can be so *dramatic* 😆

I agree. You would be surprised and how much it varies. Some bunnies can go until their mouth is one big ulcer. Others stop eating at the first sign of anything even remotely sharp developing.

If something seems wrong and it hasn’t resolved on its own since yesterday, then it is advised that you seek veterinary care. Especially with the weekend approaching, you don’t want to be “stuck” with a more serious situation developing when the vet office is closed.

You should take her to the vet. Please don’t give any medications without direction from a rabbit savvy vet. Since she is eating and pooping it isn’t an emergency yet, but since her eating has slowed you definitely want to get her seen ASAP. It could be a dental issue or ear infection, as you suspect, or some other cause of pain.

She’s favoring the left side of her face like a toothache or an ear ache.!. I’m not sure… Sage is eating, but not as much as she usually does…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Bonding an aggressive(?) bunny in the forum BONDING 2 years, 5 months ago
Your male needs to be neutered before proceeding. Otherwise his hormones will prevent the bond from truly forming and will cause her to be more aggressive towards him. So, I would pause all bonding and focus on that first. Once he’s neutered, let his hormones settle for 3 weeks and then try again. Considering how badly they have been fighting…[Read more]

That sounds like a good plan!
Yes I’ve found small spaces are not helpful when one bun is very aggressive and fearful. I think with some more time she will come around! I think you could also try a stuffy that you swap between pens (I use dog toys that are vaguely rabbit shaped haha). Get Po’s scent all over it and then give it to Truffle to…[Read more]

There have been buns on the forum that presented eating selectivity with just mild spurs. They can cause discomfort even if they don’t cause ulcers. I remember one member who’s bun would practically go into stasis anytime it got a tiny molar spur.

Hi, I have two bunnies, one female (roughly 3 years) and one male (9 months). I’ve had the female for almost two years now and recently got the male maybe 2-3 months ago and have had a lot of difficultly in bonding them. Their initial encounter went alright as they really wanted nothing to do with one another, but then I found out that the male…[Read more]

I took him to our vet, and he had passed the exam with normal results. Our vet doc is great, and she gave him a very thorough exam. She looked at his teeth and mouth three times through a couple different scopes, and she said he would be on the mild to moderate molar spur range. There were no ulcerations to be found in his mouth or on his to…[Read more]
