Hi everyone. I’m new to this group and I know this forum will be so useful!
My two sibling buns (dwarf lops) are just short of 16 weeks and we’ve had them since 8-9 weeks and they were fully bonded. From 12 weeks we kept them apart, as advised but their run is split down the middle with chicken wire, they had cuddles on my lap and closely s…[Read more] -

Oxbow is generally great with consumer contact. You could email them about your worries.
It is however very likely that something else caused your bun’s tummy trouble. It could’ve been the start of a tummy ache that made him want his pellets less. Rabbits often go off pellets when they’re not feeling right.
What causes bunny tummy trouble could…[Read more]

so on 5/8/20 my rabbit was sick. he is free roaming but generally stays in and around his home base. i woke up and he was hiding under a piece of furniture in the corner of the room and would not come out. when i tried to feed him he wouldn’t eat pellets, greens, or hay. he ate 2 blueberries when offered, but very very slowly, when he normally…[Read more]

<p style=”padding-left: 40px;”>You’re the best sap, @Bladesmith 😆 Lucky Dawn! We got ramps and stuff for our dog when she got older and her back wasn’t cooperating. It’s sad, but you can often do quite a lot to make them more comfy. Dawn has a husbun now, so she’s probably very happy. Is she on any sort of medication?</p>

I was. Ex HATED that. This is her revenge, I guess. But I’ll have her back in a couple weeks. I’ll drive half way down and make the exchange. She won’t be free until she finishes high school. It’s life.
And our little Dawn is doing better, but shes never going to be as good on her feet as she was. Age comes for us all. But, in deferen…[Read more]

That is so great! The more hay a bun eats, the more tolerant of other food its tummy gets! And it’s really great of you to lay down good hay-eating habits for them early in their lives. Their tummies and teeth will thank you! 😃
Another thing you can start adding to their diet now is fresh herbs. This time of year,if you are in the northern…[Read more]

Hi and congrats on your bunnies!
Gem lettuce is a good starter veg. Other types of lettuce are good too, although it’s probably best to avoid iceberg because of it’s bad reputation. Romaine lettuce, endive, leafy red and green lettuce, chicory, oak leaf, also lettuce-like vegs like rocket, pak choi or chard can be given. Start with a small…[Read more]

They are not bonded I thought they could be since Bella is now spayed and it’s been about a month. Her eating and litter patterns are the same honestly. I’m taking both of them to the vet Thursday for check ups and shots, so if Bella is in any pain the vet will tell me. It just scared me cause my other bunny’s room is down the hall way and Bella…[Read more]

Hi all i have had my bunnies for a month now they are reaching 13 week old, they currently have unlimited access to timothy hay and 2 small handfuls of burgees excel nuggets per day. Last week i started them on a small serving of little gem lettuce i gradually give them more through out the week and they seem to be fine no runny poo. I was just…[Read more]

Hi Alissa
The video files were not working so I removed the link from your post. I do not think we can add video via the “Add Media” button at this point. The forum is only just back up and running and it’s undergoing changes to get operating at it’s full potentional. You will probably need to add the video to a sharing site then provide links…[Read more]

Should I just go ahead and start him on the Oral trimeth/sulfamethox that Louie is on before I can get a vet appointment?
Im sorry for my late reply to you! I advise you dont give Oliver any of Louie’s meds until you’ve had a chance to speak to the vet. If you havent yet arranged an appointment, could you ring to seek advice on this? Has Oliver…[Read more]

I can’t see your videos.
Hopefully the leg problem and the sneezing are unrelated. A bun can of course get a sprain etc from running around and binkying. Keep a close eye. Is her appetite good? Have you examined the foot for visible injury (a broken nail, a broken toe etc are things you can see.) If you touch the foot, does she react with…[Read more]

jerseygirl replied to the topic Why does my bunny stretch so much?" in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 4 months ago
That sounds pretty odd. I doubt a wild rabbit would be so relaxed as to lie around that way for long length of time. Having his head far back sounds like seizures but you had said his body wasnt tight. Were you actually able to move his limbs when in this state? I do wonder if it’s a nutritional deficiency (potassium, magnesium) causing “fl…[Read more]

Hmmm, could her scent glands be plugged up? When my girl got into her senior years she had trouble keeping them clean and got a bit stinky at one point and I had to clean them for her. She also had a bit more trouble grooming her dewlap, so that could be what’s going on with your girl?
I did notice my girl having more uneaten cecotropes with age…[Read more]
