I had a head tilt rabbit several years ago. Her E. Cuniculi symptoms were triggered by age and cancer, so my experience might not be as relevant. What I learned is that progress is very slow and gradual. It’s kind of like a human recovering from a major surgery or a spinal injury – recovery comes in fits and starts, and it’s not always linear. If…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Is hay for litterbox safe? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 4 months ago
Hay is super safe and very normal for them to munch on while they do their business. They are good at selecting the clean pieces. In fact the rescue I volunteer at only uses hay in the boxes, they clean them daily and they get a nice new fluffly layer every day. If you have a cheap source of hay and clean the boxes daily this seems like a great…[Read more]

I have a question about our 2 bun buns litter box. They’re new to the family, we have only had them since Saturday. But they’re already doing a good job of mainly using the box. They’re 8 week old Flemish Giant/New Zeland mixes.
We have just been using hay in their litterbox. We have cheap access to hay thanks to our neighbors parents who farm. I…[Read more]

When I was a kid, we adopted a pair of unwanted and neglected outdoor buns from the neighbors who were brothers, and were never altered but had no issue living together. I also found 2 stray male buns as a kid and kept them in the same hutch, and they never fought at all. ( I was a kid and wouldn’t know the risks)
I’m not saying to NOT get them…[Read more]

Beau Bunny replied to the topic how to tell a bunny no in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 4 months ago
If I hear anything being audibly destroyed in the house I just say “HEY!” sharply, and then it get’s reeeaaally quiet. At least for a spell. It’s pretty funny actually. If he can reach it, it’ fair game. It’s hilarious to see him fling children’s books off the bottom shelves with utter abandon. If he seems hell bent on wrecking something, I’ll go…[Read more]

Oh yeah I’ve seen Victoria Raechel’s bunnies, Cleo and Lola love the cat tree! 😂 I live in a state that has a lot of livestock and I’m looking into hay farmers and feed stores near me. I definitely agree that pet stores overprice stuff and all that money adds up. I’m looking into multiple bunnies, so this is such a money saver! 😁

Checked on BinkyBunny on a whim and was very happy to see the forums are back in commission! 🙂
Haven’t been on here in a few years, so here are some bunny updates haha…
I still have my mini rex mix, Cadbury. If anyone remembers my tiny baby lionhead Pika, he is now a 1.5 pound ball of tricolored attitude. Unfortunately, due to Pika’s…[Read more]

Thank you Fluffy Bunny! I’m a little older than you were when you first wanted a bunny, but still close in age. I think it’s amazing that you have become so interested in them you are considering a career in wildlife! I think that you are a great example of how bunnies can change your life! I do really like being with my friends but right now I…[Read more]

Biggest cost saver I’ve found is a small local feed store near us. I can buy 25 lbs of Oxbow pellets for $30 and a bale of hay (~10-12 flakes) for $10. At Petco, 5 lb of pellets run for $15 and a flake-sized bag of hay is $20. This can add up to hundreds of dollars a year when you have multiple rabbits.
Also, cardboard boxes make great rabbit…[Read more]

Hey Guys!
I wanted to share some money savers that some people have told me as well as I have come up with. Any others that you have I would love to hear!- as far as litter, you can use pine pellets marketed towards horses
- you can get hay from farmers or feed stores in larger quantities for cheaper
- bunnies love homemade toys, but you can…

It says it’s awaiting moderation, but I think it worked?
jersey, I followed your advice and added the picture via my profile, then I was able to add it to my post with the Add Media button. Uploading pictures with add media still won’t work for me.

Hey! I remember being in the same spot as you some 12 years ago! 🙂 I was 11 then, and I am now almost 23. Bunnies were a huge part of my life as a preteen/teenager, and now they’ve become a companion I plan to have as long as I’m alive.
I know that for me, my parents’ main concerns were the cleanliness factor of having a pet in the house, as…[Read more]

Maybe she’s still a little sore from the trim? Can you get a refill from the vet? At least the gas drops seem to be helping a little.

She was improving but then 2 days ago she suddenly got gas and haven’t ate for 2 days. I gave her some gas drop then and she improved a little. I found out that tummy rubs help, and have been giving her tummy rub multiple times through out the day. Every time after a rub, she had the urge to eat, but only for a few minutes. I ran out of the med…[Read more]
