    Hi

Just looked through that website about mites. And Reggie definitely doesnt have any of the symptoms or any of the pictures do not look like that and it’s nearly been a week since I spotted these bumps

    Thanks

Hi there, welcome, sorry you are having a rough go of it!

So, there’s a lot to unpack here, but I am a bit concerned that in the beginning there was so much biting through the cage bars, and enough to draw blood. The “pre-bonding” phase is supposed to allow them to learn that the other rabbit is not a threat, and help them get used to that bunny.…[Read more]

Agree with Wick, unless he has a heart condition or something that looks worrisome in his blood work, it should be fine. Our vet neuters 8-9 year old grandpa bunnies no problem. But as Wick said, if your vet is uncomfortable with it, you might see if you can find a vet that feels more confident.

I agree that 7yo, and if in general good health, wouldn’t pose too much of an issue for a neuter? Especially because neuters are generally less invasive than, lets say a spay. My concern is mainly, if the vet themself is not comfortable with it, that adds in an additional risk. It may speak to their experience or comfort level with the procedure…[Read more]

Here is some good info on burrowing mites, but I must warn you, there are some nasty pictures if scroll down. Thankfully these mites are very sensitive to ivermectin.

Lionheads are so, so lovely and soft 💗 My very fluffy teddy lionhead got sore socks last winter, luckily covering my rugs with softer materials helped a lot, but I always have to…[Read more]

Okay so this might be pretty lengthy but please bare with me! I need some help!

Okay so I have two 3 year old neutered males. Judgement is the lionhead (resident bunny) and Oliver is the (new) lop bunny. Judgement is a chill and very lazy bunny. He rarely moves because more than half the time hes just flopped on the carpet. I must add hes…[Read more]

Hi all, I have a 7 year old female spayed rabbit who lost her bonded male partner a few months ago. A friend of mine has a 6 year old male who she wants to rehome and I would like to adopt him. He is a mini lop and very docile by nature. I told her I would only take him if she got him neutered.

However, at the initial vet visit today, the vet…[Read more]

    Hi

Thank you for your response. I have put blankets now because I didnt realise about my carpet could cause it.

I havent noticed any dry flakes round his nails? Is there any other signs that it could be mites as his fur seems okay?

Ik he has very soft fur but I love him even so haha

This could be abrasion from unsuitable flooring material, in which case it will heal up now when you’ve put on sudocream and put blankets over the floors. Lionheads are very furry, but their fur is super soft and they are somewhat prone to sore hocks.

There is however a type of mites that like attacking the area around the nails first of all. I’m…[Read more]

I’m so sorry 🙁  Pand was a beauty, I love her eyelashes <3

Please don’t beat yourself up at all, I ditto everything Bam said. It’s an unfortunate fact that rabbits are not bred for their long term health, did not evolve to live long lives, and rabbit medicine lags far behind that of animals like dogs. It sounds like you have had a rough go of…[Read more]

    Hi

I spotted my bunny had bumps underneath his nails. He is a mini lop dwarf lionhead and he is kept indoors. He has blankets in his cage with wood pellets for his litter tray. I now have put blankets on my carpet to help his paws because I read somewhere it could be the carpet.

I’m not sure if this is normal I was putting a tiny amount of…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Two spayed bunnies fighting in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 4 months ago

Hi FNW,  sorry you are going through this 🙁

I’m guessing the fighting could have been triggered by hormonal changes post-spay. Females can drain hormones for as long as 6 weeks after spaying. Illness in one bunny can also trigger fighting. So can stress in general. The peeing changes make me think that maybe that bunny had a complication with…[Read more]

    Hi…

I am new here, from Myanmar. I have 2 spayed bun ( done on 31st march 20). Already bonded. They were both okay, grooming each other and very calm after spaying and get along pretty well (coz of lock down literally I spend my whole day with them except for the time tat I sleep). I started free roaming them and realized the older bun 2yr old…[Read more]
