I walked in my room a few minutes ago to charge my phone. As I reached into a her excercises pen I petted her for a few. As I walked closer to the end of her pen I saw her bed filled with urine but with a more blood color type. She hasnt been spayed yet she is about 4 months. I have found somewhere to get her spayed her, but because of the c…[Read more]

Sounds like a great plan! It’s awesome you plan to keep them both regardless. It makes things much less stressful. Even if bonding is not successful, I’m sure they appreciate each other’s company as neighbors.

Although I have heard of cases of an unspayed female with a neutered male (it used to be rare to find a vet that would spay), I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a case of an unneutered male being successfully bonded long term unfortunately. They just tend to mount relentlessly and stress out the female (or they start fighting). July is honestly…[Read more]

Beau Bunny replied to the topic It's official: Beau hates Timothy hay in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 4 months ago
Yes, that’s what I was thinking too. So now I have a GIANT container of Timothy hay….but when he wasn’t eating any I freaked, and got the alfalfa which he makes a very visible dent in.
I’ll give the orchard a try. Fingers crossed! Thanks Hazel!

Orchard grass is a great alternative and is completely fine to feed instead. Many bunny owners prefer this because they may be allergic to Timothy hay. Lorelei (from the Lennon the Bunny YouTube channel) prefers to feed Lennon orchard grass because she is allergic to Timothy Hay. Hopefully Beau won’t be as picky once he’s an adult. 😂😁

Hi Guys!
I haven’t asked my parents about getting a rabbit or two yet but I want to know where I can buy bulk Veggies. Does anyone have any ideas? My mom goes to Costco about once a month, because it’s 45 minutes away from our house. She goes to the regular grocery stores about every week. She just went to Costco again for the first time in 2…[Read more]

I always put a thin layer of hay on top of the pellets to make it softer, otherwise Oscar won’t use it. He likes to be comfortable. 🙄

Yeah it’s a steal! I use it for all my litterboxes (cats, rabbit and ferret). It’s great! 🙂

Hi Sonn! 🙂
I’m sorry you lost your tortoise and Haven. 😥
I’m glad to hear the rest of your zoo is doing well. Waverly is beautiful, what breed is she?

Hazel replied to the topic Female humping and chasing brother – I'm feeling stressed! in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 4 months ago
It won’t change her personality, technically. However, not all hormonally driven behaviors are “bad”. Being cuddly, loving or even clingy could be caused by hormones, or it could be part of a rabbit’s personality. There’s no way of knowing in advance. So yeah, she might lose some of what you consider positive personality traits, or she might not.…[Read more]

Thank you. I kept them separate from 11-12 weeks and they have both been to the vets, Smudge when he got neutered. She is 16-17 weeks this weekend so I will speak to my vet about getting her spayed.
They don;t fight through the mesh, if anyting they have long nose sniffs and also lay side by side.
Does spaying change their personality? I kno…[Read more]

Thank you for rescuing this rabbit! 💗
You’re story reminds me very much of my first rabbit, Bam. My dog found him outside, where he had been dumped like garbage. Long story shorter: I brought him home, and after a short time I decided to litter train him and let him roam free in my apt. He spent about a year sitting under the coffee table, only…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic My rabbit lays on wee wee pad? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 4 months ago
Rabbits normally spend a rather large part of the lay being “lazy”. They are at their most active in the mornings and evenings. Animals that have this activity-pattern are known as crepuscular animals. So you dont have to activate a bun who is lazy in the afternoon -he’s just being true to his rabbit nature. They tend to eat less and poop…[Read more]

Alright, thank you for the great feedback. I’m privileged enough to be able to work from home during these hard times so I might as well start now since I spend most of my time at home. 🙂
I will do what you suggest and try bonding them for a couple of months, if that didn’t work I will keep them separate. I did get Freja mostly to keep Loke…[Read more]

A few months ago somebody abandoned two rabbits in my backyard. Two weeks ago one of them disappeared and we think a wild animal got to it. Last week we were finally able to catch the surviving rabbit. (Named Bernard) We currently have him in an extra large dog crate with food, water, and toys until we can find him a permanent home. We would love…[Read more]
