    Hi DanaNM!

I will have to keep an eye out on whether or not her tail is up, but her ears are often pinned back. This has been pretty constant; however, I got them spayed very shortly after I adopted them so I am not sure if this was happening before they were spayed or not.

Thank you, Louie is only about three pounds, and may reach up to six, (he’s a Havana). I’ll keep him on younger food for a bit longer, and will probably start transitioning to adult food in a few months.

Hmm, I would actually recommend looking at Petfinder at shelters near your hometown if you’re ok getting your hopes up a bit. I looked at many rabbits near me even before my parents allowed me to look into adopting one. If you find one that catches your eye, you could look into that shelter and see what their policies and adoption procedures are.…[Read more]

Yep, I’ve never had to use anything higher than one of those tension baby gates. I can easily step over it. Some bunnies just aren’t that motivated. And if they aren’t motivated, they aren’t going to bother.

It depends on the breed too. Obviously, a small bunny is going to stop growing at a younger age and can be transitioned to adult food sooner. A giant breed, on the other hand, will stop growing at a relatively older age. The young rabbit pellets are formulated for growth. Does it hurt to transition them sooner rather than later? Not really. I…[Read more]

How old is he? And how long has he been neutered? Sorry, I must have missed your other thread.

    Hi everyone,

I have a (male, neutered) bunny that is now celebrating 1 year. He walks freely at home, and almost never have poop/pee issues.

A few months ago, we brought him a new (male, neutered) friend (now celebrating 6 months). The young one was first litter trained, and then slowly bonded with the “adult” bunny. It seems that they are very…[Read more]

I’ve been looking and researching since February, and my parents have said no even when I try to show them my research. They just keep doing what they’re doing and not even listening. Do you guys have some ideas on how to get them to listen and hear me out?
    Thanks,

Especially DanaNM for taking the time to read my previous posts and respond thoughtfully. We are making amazing progress thanks to everyone’s wonderful experience and suggestions. I admit having times obey the last year that I considered giving up but I love all of my rabbits so much and didn’t want Clover to be a solitary bun forever. We are now…[Read more]

    Hello,

I have a female spayed rabbit (6months) who is now single after her sibling passed away. I have just got an 8 week old male to pair with her.

I am just wondering whether I should introduce them gradually now as it is very difficult to give them both plenty of attention separately? Or should I wait until he is neutered (vet advised 5…[Read more]

My mom is an animal lover, but after years of begging for pets she never gave in. I was at the pet store with her buying fish supplies, (we have an aquarium), and I noticed the bunnies. I never gave any thought to it, but during quarantine I stumbled upon several videos and fell in LOVE with rabbits. I did extensive research and looked into…[Read more]

Do you know if the gum had aspertame in it? Used to sweeten a lot of gums and is toxic to bunnies. Whether it’s a problem would really depend on how much he ate.

Ugh. So on the topic of feed, if it’s all over a year old now then great but what about later this summer? The disease will definitely spread more and more and it never occurred to me that the hay could be infected, so what do we do if and when this becomes endemic? Maybe an American company will begin making vaccines? How the vaccine itself is…[Read more]

You can start him on adult food now, but if you stillnhave more junior pellets left,Β  they’re fine until hes around 7 months. It’s very good that he’s on timothy hay now, it can be difficult to wean a rabbit on to grass hay, if it’s been on alfalfa hay.

There are adult pellets that contain alfalfa, but the total protein and calcium levels in…[Read more]
