Sounds good, and that way he can get used to other family members in case he ever needs to be bunny-sat another time too.

Hey guys I just want to get your opinion on wood that is safe to put in your rabbits Kennels. Recently Pinky has started chewing the bars on his kennel even though he has full ROM the entire room. I’m really concerned that he’s going to damage his teeth is this something I should be worried about? I want to put a piece of wood where he choose the…[Read more]

BadAbunny replied to the topic Can I litter train an unspayed bunny? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 4 months ago
So my little bun is 6 weeks old, I’ve got one of the Wabbitat cages so it’s a bit larger and he’s tiny so he’s got room in there. I’ve put his food and water in a corner litter pan, which he happily hops in to eat, but he is pooping all over the place. I’ve got another cat sized little box downstairs with pelets and hay in it, he’ll jump in and…[Read more]

Thank you!! Yeah, we’ll have family come check on the little guy, let him get some play time, food, and water! He’ll probably be more comfortable in his familiar surroundings, then we won’t have to adjust and re-adjust for such a short trip.

Thank you. ❤️ It really was the hardest decision. I got his pawprints in clay and I’m going to set up a little memorial with that and his favorite blanket to remember him by! Thank you for the suggestion! I will definitely have to call around! I’d love to know it goes to helping other bunnies and animals be more comfortable.

I’m so very sorry you had to say good bye to Thumper. It is a horrible decision to have to make. 💔
It’s very sweet of you to want to donate his lovely new blanket. Somebunny will be very happy.

Bam replied to the topic pooping too much? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 4 months ago
It’s an effect of his great hay-eating habits. There’s nothing negative about more round “pellets”-type poop.
That he loops more outside his box could be because he’s poop-marking. This can be a reaction to sth in the environment. Have you met any other animals recently? A dog or a cat or other buns? Rabbits pick up on scents very well, and the…[Read more]

Hmmm, that’s your call, but how he reacted when brought home is a good test. If he adjusted quickly when you took him home, taking him away for a day or two could be fine, but most rabbits get stressed out during travel, and it’s not always worth it to take a bun on a short trip.

Hey everyone,
This site has been so helpful with information for our new little guy! He’s been home 4 days and is already going gang busters in the living room having the time of his little life! I do have a few questions and a situation I’m not sure how to tackle.
So we just got little Rambo, he’s 6 almost 7 weeks old, he’s taken very quickly…[Read more]

My bunny recently (as of two days ago) starting pooping a lot more pellets per day than usual. I noticed it when he started pooping outside the litter box, (I guess because the litter box was so soiled.) He is still eating and behaving normally. Is this regular behavior?

Louiethebunny started the topic Windowsill run in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 4 months ago
My rabbit found out how to hop onto the window ledge, and now zoomies around then hops onto the sill, runs across, then zooms back down again. Is this safe, because although I don’t mind him hopping on there in his free roam time, if it is very unsafe I would like to bunny proof it.

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Matted dirty chin? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 4 months ago
That is definitely odd. While his teeth may look good to you, it’s actually typically the back most teeth that cause issues and some drooling, and it is impossible to examine them properly without the proper tools and in most cases putting the rabbit under anesthesia for a bit. I would suggest going to an experienced exotic rabbit vet in order to…[Read more]

Thank you both so much. This was just the kind of help I needed. I have watched Lennon the Bunny and 101rabbits’ videos on Youtube about spaying and neutering and I will get him neutered if he shows hormonal behaviors. I have also seen their videos on surrendering and abandoning and I would never do this to my rabbit, especially if I can help the…[Read more]

They thought my bun was a she until her surgery was scheduled, in her medical files from the shelter, Louie was listed as female until his neuter!

So sorry for your loss. 🙁 Never an easy decision but I’m sure it was the right time.

About the fleece, maybe check in with shelters/rescues in your area? With the RHDV outbreak some might not be accepting donations right now, depending on your location.

DanaNM replied to the topic Travel needed for my surgery–what is safest option for bunny? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 4 months ago
Agree, if the sitter stays there that’s prob the best bet!
Whether bun will miss you prob depends on the bun, but in my experience with pet sitters usually the buns adjust after a couple days of being fed by the sitter. I think the most important thing for the bun’s comfort is for the sitter to keep the same routine (feeding times, play times,…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Neutering my bunny in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 4 months ago
Neutering in males is mostly for behavioral reasons, and is much less invasive than spaying. So as long as your bun isn’t ever interacting with any other bunnies, and you are happy with his behavior, I don’t personally see a need to rush to do it. But if you start seeing an uptick in hormonal behaviors you will know why. Sadly a lot of male…[Read more]
