Hi, I’m new here and I’m not sure if I am posting in the right space. I have a 7 year old rabbit who is not neutered (it’s too risky to do it now) so getting him a companion is not an option. He is free roam throughout the house, and has one room with most of his things where he can play and eat etc. We have given him a variety of toys (toss…[Read more]

Louiethebunny replied to the topic Why is my Medically Healthy Rabbit not Eating or Pooping? in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 4 months ago
I would feed her critical care like Enzo the Bunny says, it’s a good way to get her nutrients if she won’t until you find out how to help her. It sounds like she wants to eat, but can’t, so it could be a dental problem, hurting teeth stop rabbits from eating. Unfortunately, if she isn’t eating or pooping she could be going into g.i. stasis. If she…[Read more]

hey, I am not sure what is wrong with your bun mine is recovering from gi stasis right now and he had similar signs but if the vet checked her she probably doesn’t have gi stasis maybe ask your vet about that. Is she drinking water? you could try giving her critical care if you have some on hand to get something in her stomach. Hope she is ok!

I am very worried about my rabbit, Hunny Nugget (lives indoors, spayed, three-year-old lionhead mix). For the past few days, she has not been eating with her usual vigor. Hunny used to practically inhale everything we gave her, but now we’re lucky if she even gives her hay or greens a nibble. If Hunny does put any food in her mouth, she seems to…[Read more]

Thought I would give you a follow up! I decided to do a week (possibly longer) of 24/7 bonding. It’s been a little longer than a day of them being in a neutral room in an X-pen together. I have a new big litterbox for the both of them to share along with a water bowl and pellets/veggies that get sprinkled on the floor rather than bowls. The…[Read more]

Ahhh, thanks Hazel! ❤️ I bought the Young alfalfa pellets and alfalfa hay, tried giving her the hay and she isn’t haaaaaving ANY of it. Hahaha so ill put her back on her usual Timothy Hay – She’ll be most pleased! Lol
When you say unlimited pellets, do you really mean, unlimited? Like fill her bowl and when it’s empty, refill it again? As I’m…[Read more]

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I have a bun that had trouble keeping weight on due to a serious dental problem. It didnt cause him to lose his appetite until it became acute. Have you had his molars checked? It’s not something you can do yourself, due to the anatomy of the rabbit oral cavity, a vet needs to look with an otoscope. Skull…[Read more]

He is about 5 or 6 months, I noticed he is behaving like this at strange times of the day. I don’t handle him much, just a few pets here and there when he comes close and wants attention. I’ve only had him about a month, and don’t want to be too touchy. Today, I think I realized the extra frightened behavior. Right next door, very close nearby,…[Read more]

My mom and I had been worried about my bun being underweight too, and now reading this thread, I’m going to be feeding my bun just a little more pellets until he reaches his max growth. He should grow about two more pounds, so I’ll give him more alfalfa pellets until then.

I did find some vets this morning. For lower prices, so that’s good! 😀 They are all still separated, but they can see each other through their cages. Would it be alright if they visit each other on my lap or on the couch with me sitting there? With Smokey’s false pregnancy, do you think it will be too much longer before she realizes she’s not…[Read more]

Oh gosh, yes don’t feel bad! Not the end of the world by any means, esp since she had the young rabbit food till 6 months! And def not a crazy case of malnourishment or anything!
But LOL I think we can all agree to never take advice from pet store staff. 🙄

I tend to agree it will prob settle down and he’s just being territorial because it’s a new space?
I too have an older bun that honks and leaves territorial poops all over! He runs around thumping too. He reminds me of an old man yelling “GIT OFF MY LAWN” from his porch.
