We are calling the specialist first thing in the morning. I’m so scared for Hunny. I honestly don’t know what teeth were treated, or what aspects of them were. She’s making the pained clicking again and still spits out greens we try to give her. I can’t stop thinking the worst is gonna happen.

Silver is the territorial one. She will sometimes nip or bite the other ones if they enter her territory. Smokey and OB are good with others in their territory. But, OB sometimes gets stressed when the others are around her. Would putting a pee pad on a couch work as a neutral territory? If I switch their cages every day, would that be okay? Or…[Read more]

I too am somewhat confused by the vet’s description. My only thought is that perhaps the vet doesn’t have a small enough dremel tool to burr the cheek spurs safely and/or doesn’t have the proper tool to hold open the rabbit’s mouth/cheeks wide enough to reach that angle?

If you see here, this rabbit has spurs that need to be burred down. Rabbit…[Read more]

I see, so did she go under anesthesia at all for this trim?
I guess I’m still a bit confused because in my mind, the back teeth are all molars, collectively called cheek teeth (whereas the incisors are the front teeth). Maybe she trimmed the premolars but not the back molars? Sorry not trying to interrogate you!
Good you have meloxicam on hand.…[Read more]

Gotcha! Sounds like a good plan! Yeah plain basic cat boxes are great, or I use just a plastic storage tub, like the kind that are meant to fit under the bed. Got it at a hardware store for i think $8? Most don’t mind a bit of a hop in. 🙂

You can rotate them if you’d like, but it might not help too much since they will smell differently to each other once they are spayed.
As for neutral space, you may need to get creative. Some bunnies do ok in a manufactured neutral space, where you set up a pen as far away as possible from their main area, add some linoleum flooring or other…[Read more]

Hi! So, right now, they’re all currently separated in three different cages. Would it be OK if I rotated them through those three cages? Also, they don’t really have a ‘neutral’ territory for when I do, do re-bonding sessions.
Thank you!

It feels like August here. Normal temps for early June is low 80s. It’s been close to 100 F all week. I bought a new bike and I haven’t even used it yet. It’s just so hot!

Jumping in the litter box is not a problem for most buns, if the box has a swingy door, just remove it and your bun should be hopping in and out.

Bunnies can definitely vary on this. Some are just not big chewers and can be more or less trusted not to get into trouble. Others not so much. Take things slowly and gradually increase his amount of freedom. If he does well, then he can keep free-roaming during the day. And there is nothing wrong with a bunny “going to bed” at night. The cover of…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic how to hold a rabbit in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 4 months ago
No rabbit likes to be held, but many can and do learn to tolerate it. If you want to work on this, I would suggest with baby steps. Sit on your knees and pet your bunny on her sides. Then move on to putting your hands under her. Gradually work up to lifting her up a few inches for a second or two. Progressing in this manner can make things less…[Read more]

I will look into getting her spayed tomorrow! Thanks for that info. She is in a big cage, and will put adding a pen shortly we just had to move a few things around before we could get her the space but the owner needed us to take her before we were 100% ready. She also is out of her cage in a big area outside for multiple hours of the day, I will…[Read more]
