It makes me want to cry with joy lol! It’s such a happy sight 😀 Now if only my girl would poop…I don’t think she’s done any since the 15 the vet tech told us about this morning before we picked her up. Not sure if Hunny made those last night or this morning.
Right now, the plan is to keep praying and hoping for the best, as well as to follow…[Read more]

KelseyAnn replied to the topic BUNNY STOPPED USING LITTER BOX AFTER ATTACK in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 4 months ago
She is usually free to run around 24/7, unless she gets sassy 😂 I used to use the cage only for at night, but now with her not using her litter box I feel I can’t let her out. I switched back to her previous litter and no more poops outside of the box! Just pee, so I think it might be a territorial problem as previously mentioned.
I’m going to…[Read more]

Hazel replied to the topic netherland dwarf health problems in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 4 months ago
As LBJ said, not all dwarfs will have these problems, there’s just a higher risk. I don’t think you should limit yourself to one particular breed though. I would always recommend adopting a bunny from a shelter if possible, if you go that route you could end up with any kind of rabbit of course. But I think that’s part of the fun. 🙂

Yay, glad to hear the vet visit went well. 🙂
I’ve always wanted to try Orchard hay, I wish they had bales of it at Tractor Supply (well they do, but it’s mixed with Alfalfa 🙁 )
I hope Whinnie wasn’t too mad about getting shots. 😉

do you think I should get another kind of rabbit
so I don’t have the risk of that because they might not live through that

Yeah. There’s only two local shelters sadly, and one is just for dogs. The other usually doesn’t have any small pets. 🙁 I wish I could meet my friend’s bunny, but my parents never let me go to other people’s houses. I’m not allowed to go to sleepovers, either.

awww that’s too bad to hear. if you want to hang around and visit bunnies, you can always check out volunteering opportunities at local rabbit rescues or animal shelters!

Hi guys, just a little update from the original post. Whinnie went to see the vets for her health check and Jabs today and the vet said she was the perfect weight and she’s really happy with her overall health and well being. 😀😀 Yay! Thank you so much for all your help and advice, you helped keep me sane until she could be seen lol

Hey guys! I sadly have to say that I am not allowed to get any bunnies, or any other pets for that matter, until I move out. 😭 My parents have a lot of misconceptions in mind, and they don’t like the idea of a litter box. There’s no convincing them now. I can’t wait until I move out, but that is a while a way. I researches for 6 months but sadly…[Read more]

Health problems definitely can affect bonding! Sorry he’s doing poorly but glad you picked up on it. It is very possible he was extra cranky because he was in pain. I had a pair where one bun had dental issues and whenever he needed dental work it would affect the bond (they would bicker). I suspect when a bun is in pain they feel much more…[Read more]

Update! We have been taking a break from the bonding because Theo is having some health problems. After a series of problem solving we figured out that he is in some kind of physical pain (metacam helps dramatically) but the vet can’t find any problems in an exam, xray, or bloodwork. He seems to be improving now but it might be something with his…[Read more]

Hi, Sorry I somehow missed the new reply. The vet is treating for EC mostly because of the new bunny in the house I think. He just finished his 10 day course of fenbendazole and metacam and it was amazing. Within hours of starting the metacam he was a new rabbit, totally back to his old self gobbling down food, eating every bite of everything…[Read more]

Thank you again for sharing your knowledge with me you’re very helpful! I’ll keep that in mind and make sure he’s getting enough nutrients. He ate his pellets yesterday but hasn’t ate any pellets today but is munching on hay and a small piece of banana I gave him. Should I feed him some critical care if he doesn’t eat his pellets by the end of the day?
