I have three rabbits whos names are Smokey (Gray) Silver (Californian) OB (Black) they are all mix’s so OB and Smokey’s breed is hard to tell. 😀

I was getting pretty fed up because I didn’t want him to be a rascal and escape but I bunny proofed the room and now he free roams with an xpen as his “home base”. I would like to remove the xpen so we completely share a room but my mom isn’t up to that yet.

If they’re bonded, it shouldn’t be a problem. Some people recommend certain breeds for new owners based on temperament, but if you’re up to the challenge owning any bunny is worth it! I have heard lop breeds tend to be mellow, but temperament varies from rabbit to rabbit.

I think rabbits are probably the most judgmental animals in the world. 😆

I definitely felt judged while folding, he sat there looking at me like that for 10 minutes 😀 then he just sort of melted into the ground and fell asleep.

Can you move the litter box or the xpen so that it’s less of a step to hop over? Or maybe cardboard to make them taller by the litterbox? At least for a temp solution. That said, I saw some pretty tall xpens for around $50 on amazon, but I wonder if you could maybe see any being sold 2nd hand for cheap on craigslist or such? People get the for…[Read more]

@talesOfTybalt That photo is the cutest thing ever! I certainly don’t blame him for being totally smitten with himself!! Tybalt is very handsome!

It makes me want to cry with joy lol! It’s such a happy sight 😀 Now if only my girl would poop…I don’t think she’s done any since the 15 the vet tech told us about this morning before we picked her up. Not sure if Hunny made those last night or this morning.

She is usually free to run around 24/7, unless she gets sassy 😂 I used to use the cage only for at night, but now with her not using her litter box I feel I can’t let her out. I switched back to her previous litter and no more poops outside of the box! Just pee, so I think it might be a territorial problem as previously mentioned.

As LBJ said, not all dwarfs will have these problems, there’s just a higher risk. I don’t think you should limit yourself to one particular breed though. I would always recommend adopting a bunny from a shelter if possible, if you go that route you could end up with any kind of rabbit of course. But I think that’s part of the fun. 🙂

I’ve always wanted to try Orchard hay, I wish they had bales of it at Tractor Supply (well they do, but it’s mixed with Alfalfa 🙁  )
