I’m so very, very sorry.
A partial blockage is a very serious condition and we dont know why it happens. You did all you possibly could and you were there for her through all of it.
It is very unfair.
Binky free, sweet little bun.

Ok gotcha. Yes if he is regularly getting soft poops then he is likely getting too many treats in his diet. I would cut out all fruit and treats (make sure no family members are sneaking treats to him as well, this is commonly a problem!). He may even need less salad or pellets if the problem continues. I do think having the vet do the initial…[Read more]

I have a manscape trimmer but for pets, it could work but itās the handling part that frustrates me. He becomes so stressed that I feel bad. I change the litter twice a day and frequently cover the poops and pews throughout the day for them not to sit on it. Sometimes it is soft poop, as sometimes I feed them a fruit or something and it causes t…[Read more]

Iāve tried that, but to me itās way too hard on the feet (one of them has a little bit sore hocks or calluses) also it was a little dusty.

She passed bam, as I held her. She quietly faded away. Ā Iāve only been a bunny owner for a year. Unfair and heartbreaking. Iām so angry. So angry.

Yes, the Metacam dose is for 24 hours.
I think you are doing all you can at home now and it’s great you have seen some poop and pee.

I can’t tell from the image, but could it possibly be a foxtail? Are there any seed heads on your hay?

It really depends on the buns I think. Eventually you do need to work with all 4 at once, but it can be helpful to work with the pairs separately to get a sense of which combo is likely to be the most challenging. If you have someone to help you manage the sessions you could try all 4 at once to start, but you may find it less stressful to try the…[Read more]

A sanitary shave should help! I agree that having a vet help with it at first is good. For at home trimming, I recommend getting a “manscaped” style trimmer (generic versions are fine) as they make it much easier and safer to do at home!
How often are you changing the litter? If he’s regularly getting pee stains it may just need to be cleaned…[Read more]

I wonder if a wood-based pelleted litter would absorb better. Like horse stall pellets, Feline Pine, wood stove pellets, etc.

She just reached her head up and nibbled down lettuce from my plate. It had Italian dressing on so I got her a few more pieces. Iām waiting for a vet to call back about lactated ringers. Please let her get through 24 hrs again. Small poops and weeās. Doing all thatās advised here. Got her moving a bit.

Hey,
I have a bonded pair (M/F), and I recently took in a second pair (baby bond, F/F, long story). I had the two F’s spayed and they are recovering separately (same room, different xpens), I will presume their bond has been broken. I will be waiting at least another couple weeks for them to fully recover, but my question is about how best to go…[Read more]

We have lost another rabbit friendly airline. š
As of July, WestJet no longer allows rabbits in-cabin. This means there are no more Canadian airlines that take in-cabin rabbits and only three American airlines left. Incredibly frustrating that rabbits are treated as if they carry more diseases than birds (which are still allowed in-cabin…[Read more]

Sometimes poop does get stuck, but I will try asking my vet if they could do a sanitary shave. I use those paper bedding and recycled paper pellet bedding with some orchard hay on top. I add the hay on top since one of my rabbits like it that way, if I donāt add it he will begin to push the bedding and make a mess (also it gets stuck on his b…[Read more]

How is your bun doing now?
If the stomach is full but theres little food or gas in the gi tract, it points to a partial blockage in the intestines. Proper treatment for that is fluids and pain meds. At that stage, gut motility meds are contraindicated. Instead, a spasmolytic drug can be given to help relax the smooth muscle in the intestines.…[Read more]
