Yup, Hunny is about the same weight! I’ll give those amounts a try. I just hope my girl can eat them. Her recent chewing problems aside, she has never had pellets before and is either hesitant or disinterested in new food. She’s such a diva lol

I feed the same brand, my bunny loves them. Pellets are good for rabbits, in moderation. Hay is great for keeping their teeth as well as their digestive tract in tip-top condition, but it has very little nutritional value. Hopefully lol. We’re all such strong-willed people with different opinions. We all have some form of anxiety, and we all love Hunny. Not only is the situation frustrating, but our interactions are because we all want the same thing but go about it different ways.

I’ll try 🙂 I just worry about friction from my family because we’re all so frustrated with this situation. If Hunny loves them, my mother especially (due to hating Critical Care time) will want to give our girl as many as she can eat. My voice is usually silenced pretty quickly.

Yep, that’s a very good brand. 🙂 Start off by offering just a teaspoon for a couple days (even if she loves it), to allow her tummy to get used to it, then slowly work up to the recommended amount based on her weight.

Petsmart willing, we bought Oxbow Adult Essentials (called Bunny Basics on Chewy.com). It was recommended to us by one of the specialists. Here’s hoping it works…

I had a crazy carpet digger too! In her main living area, I used a piece of plywood with vinyl tiles on it, then grass mats on top. I’ve also seen ppl use those hard plastic carpet protectors meant for under an office chair as the base flooring. Then you can add fleece, cardboard, or grass mats to add traction.

I’m not sure. My experience is some bunnies from the start are less stressed by the car, and others are just stressed, no matter what you do. My sense is it has more to do with the rabbit’s personality than getting them used to the car.

Ah, yeah pellets are worth a try! Most bunnies love them. There are even some brands that are formulated to be free-fed in larger amounts for buns that have trouble eating hay if it ends up being a longer term solution. Normally those aren’t recommended because we all want our buns to eat hay, but this is a special circumstance!

Hazel – Agreed. A report was made to animal services so hopefully they do a home check to make sure they don’t have any more neglected animals on the property.

No significant change. Hunny did poop and pee in the night, so that’s good, but otherwise, she’s still not eating and having immense difficulty chewing whenever she decides to put something in her mouth. She took a few nibbles of cilantro this morning, but that’s it.
