Hello everyone, Budja’s came home on Monday and has been doing really well. She’s on quite a few medicines, and on eye drops with an eye lubrication for superficial ulcers on each eye from when she was under for surgery. Her marsupialization hole has been healing very rapidly already, I flush it twice a day with saline water and pack it with a…[Read more]

I’m sorry your rabbit nipped you, but rabbits sometimes do nip – not just if they’re scared. They can nip for attention or if they think you’re in their way etc. It’s obv good not to encourage it, ie if a bun nips to get a treat, dont give a treat.
There’s nothing you have to do if she didnt break the skin. If she had broken the skin you just…[Read more]

Hi, I have a few questions. If you are bitten by your pet bunny but it doesn’t break the skin and only leaves a bruise, are you in need of a tetanus shot or a rabies shot? There was no bleeding and no puncture but i just have a bruise on my arm. She bit me out of fear and it wasn’t a proper clamp down on my arm just a nip but it did hurt and lef…[Read more]

Some bunnies just like to dig and if they find something that will come up when they dig at it, then they will just continue to dig there. I think the concept here would be the same as if your bunny was digging at regular carpeting, so my suggestion would be to put something heavy over the dig spot. I’ve found that large ceramic tiles work well.

One of my rabbits (or both) scratch at the floor! In their cage I have the floor as one of those outside camping rugs. Underneath of it is a waterproof mat incase of accidents. But in the corner of their cage they have an entire hole they dug with the underneath mat sticking out! I don’t know why they are scratching at the floor nor how to stop…[Read more]

Thanks for your interest in the BB litter screens! They definitely do wonders in keeping an inherently messy area a bit more neatly kept.
Based on the dimensions, nothing is an exact fit, but you could either do the a custom sized one:…[Read more]

My primary suggestion is actually CC feedings. Unlike adding more pellets or treats, CC is nutritionally balanced, so it’s supplement into a daily diet is less likely to disrupt GI and may just lead to some excess cecals at times.
I’ve done supplemental CC feedings for two of my rabbits due to different reasons, and it did well for both without…[Read more]

I wonder if another pellet brand could help? Often buns are sensitive to a specific ingredient rather than pellets as a whole. You can also find pure timothy pellets that are meant for horses that might work. Oat hay could also be good for him and less likely to cause issues than straight oats. You also might ask the vet if you could try some…[Read more]

Hello – my bunny Benjamin had liver surgery last month. He’s been back to the vet for rechecks twice since then and he’s in great health. He’s eating lots of hay on his own and has good energy even though he’s not exercising a ton due to healing from surgery. He’s lost a little weight since the surgery (beyond the weight of the removed liver…[Read more]

I had good luck with a beard trimmer. Definitely quieter than a pair of pet clippers! Bunny fur is fine, so you don’t need anything heavy duty to cut through it. I like Dana’s idea of using something super absorbent and then putting something soft on top.
