Update: I just saw fleas on him and now I’m freaking out a little because I can’t get him to the vet until Tuesday afternoon. The bunny doctor isn’t in on Saturdays or Mondays. I’m guessing there’s no over the counter flea meds that are safe?

Doing critical care in a different setting may work. Many times rabbits are pretty shell shocked at the vet so vets sometimes have an advantage to catch them off guard.

I’m reading that she inhaled a piece of apple, so clearly she is eating. Remember that. Things take time. Even if you do things “right”, she will likely not magically become…[Read more]

Lol! Gotta love those giant attitudes packed in small little bodies! I rescued Quincy from starving in a parking lot and it didn’t take her long to start acting like the queen of the house. I was like girl… did you already forget where you just came from??? The nerve.

I bet! 😀  Mine does the same thing, if I get up too early he comes stomping out of his hutch like “What the HECK is going on out here??? 😡 ” 😆

Yeah I had to edit the photos because they were giant on my computer but it needed mod approval again. He’s really gonna be such a beautiful boy when he’s healthy. My heart is so full every time I sit with him and he purrs away. 🥰 Although I walked in to check on him at 4 in the morning and he wasn’t too happy with me disturbing his night…[Read more]

Hi Bruno’s Mama! So nice to see you here! 💗

I do agree with the others. British vet Richard Sauders says rabbits dont really like the taste of cecals, but I dont know how he knows this. Anyway, it could explain why they leave them if he can’t reach them straight from the source, so to speak.

    Ugh, those Craigslist pictures…

He probably thinks he died and went to heaven. Poor thing. In a couple of months he will be unrecognizable. 🙂

I hate to sound like a broken record, but, baby food…

What’s the plan regarding her lower incisors? Do they want to try regular trims, or remove them?

LBJ10 – Yes, he was in a wire dog crate sitting on what looks to be concrete… or maybe it’s dirt, I can’t tell. Here were the pictures of his previous situation that were posted on craigslist:

And his setup now. I’m still very impressed by his amazing litterbox-using skills despite being unaltered and a previous outside bun! My girls…[Read more]

You said she gets a small bowl of pellets, how much is that exactly? They should get 1/4 to 1/2 of a cup per 6lbs of body weigh daily. She might just be filling up on pellets?

That’s great and must feel so rewarding! I envy people who have buns that flop by them. My Desmond James would do it a bit but the slightest movement from me would make him sit back up. My girls rarely flop. It’s the cutest thing!

me and my bun have been getting closer, he flops all the time now! He also learned how to get on my bed and last time he pooped on it, but I changed the sheets and the new ones have less of my scent and he hopped on and didn’t poop! we are making progress, hence the baby steps!

I’m not sure if she’s young or older, she seems to be about average size so I’m guessing she’s full grown. When she went to the emergency they said she was 4.4 pounds. She has a vet appointment next Friday so they will let me know if her teeth have any issues. The dried herbs sound like a good idea, although I haven’t ever seen them in stores. W…[Read more]
