A Japanese harlequin, just like my bun!! With Kuro his pattern is a bit lighter and he has a white belly. Your bunny is so cute!

That’s a great point, I hadn’t thought of that. His bowl is directly on the ground and he seems to have to stretch pretty far down to get to it. I’ll try switching to a bowl with a stand so it’s easier for him 🙂 Thank you!

I’m late to this, I hope Moni is still fine and I expect she is. Ingestion of some veggie oil could perhaps cause some poop weirdness, but nothing really serious. She will perceive it as it dirt and try to groom it off, which is normal and good.

I agree, raising bowl a little might help. Also not to fill right to the top if he’s mostly doing this after you refill it. He might be sticking nose in too far, not gauging the depth properly, or just drinking too fast.
One of my rabbits does a gag-cough when he drinks sometimes. So I know it looks worriesome! He always seems fine after these e…[Read more]

Adorable!
The secondary grooming thing is always a laugh. I still see it with long-bonded pairs.

Absolutely- she’s still doing fine and I am still monitoring her. I’ll give another update in the morning, but thank you for your response!

Grooming is actually a very good sign, and she seems to be behaving normally. I would monitor her for a little longer and make sure these kinds of incidents are prevented in the future.

Small update since my post was approved: Moni is still doing well, eating hay, hopping around as usual.. she is still grooming herself though (her feet, mainly)

Hello! My name’s Alyssa and I’m the owner of a netherland dwarf named Moni.
Today, Moni had a bit of a mishap- she was caught in a glue trap that I had no idea was even set out because my father hadn’t bothered telling me about it. Nonetheless, I was angry. I immediately took it into my own hands to help Moni- I gave her feet (the only area…[Read more]

prince dorian the bun replied to the topic hay rack in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 3 months ago
I just stick hay in his two litter boxes. Easier to deal with for me and he is happy to flop and eat at the same time. He doesn’t seem to eat anything soiled and tends to stick to the back corners for that part of the business anyway. Occasionally I’ll stick some hay in tubes or he had a little wicker basket I would fill up until he decided to…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic rabbit gas in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 3 months ago
There is probably some gas moving through if you’re able to hear. Similar to humans, it may just work itself out. If you see signs of gas discomfort that isn’t resolving itself, then you can intervene with some infant gas drops, tummy rubs, etc.. If there is no poop and a lack of appetite, you will want to be vigilant in monitoring those symptoms…[Read more]

Oh he’s so cute, love his fur coloration! Reminds me a bit of a calico cat (I know nothing about coat patterns in buns!)
