I would keep things the same as long as you keep seeing improvements from Myra, once that levels out I would take the next step. Although I’m not sure what exactly that should be, I’ve never gone through the bonding process, my pair bonded themselves back in the day and I didn’t know any better… π
Also, Bun Jovi, try to read the room buddy! π

In addition to wet veggies, you can also soak his pellets in water. I actually do this with my cat’s dry food since cats aren’t good drinkers.

Hazel replied to the topic Having two rabbits: do they get less affectionate towards their owners? in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 3 months ago
Agree with everything above. It depends on the rabbit’s personality. I’ve had one pair, one of them was very outgoing and would seek out human attention a lot. The other was more reserved. However, once the first one passed away, the shy one came out of his shell and became more affectionate. In the end, I don’t think it should be a deciding…[Read more]

So funny, I had no idea that it would throw her off so much!
She seemed to be just fine on the floors although slippery, but I’ll put a rug tomorrow and see how it is! Thanks for the help!

Thanks for filling out the template!
So disclaimer is that I haven’t bonded a trio. I’m currently struggling with similar questions (I have a pair and a single foster also!). But I do know it is very common for the current pair to split during the process, so you end up with three singles during bonding, but then end up with a trio at the…[Read more]

Since it’s a new set up/area, the slippery floors can seem novel as well, even if she has navigated on them before. I agree that putting something down to ease her may help!
A change of environment, even small, can throw some rabbits off. My Fable does the low-army-crawl whenever something has been moved or put on the floor. Shopping bag? Scary.…[Read more]

She sure is cute! π She could just be getting used to the move.
I also notice the floors look slippery? A lot of bunnies wont move around much if the floors are slippery, so you can add some rugs or blankets to give her some traction.

Hellooo
Interested to hear people’s thoughts on this, but I’m really just scheming and won’t be taking any actions on this until I can get the buns all vaccinated for RHDV2 so prob not for at least a month (our vet has gotten the first round of approvals though! woohooo!).
So, Bonnie (our foster), is settling in pretty well. I think she’s been…[Read more]

Hi there, I moved my bunny’s enclosure from one side of the room to another a few days ago. Now, she will rarely leave under her cage door which I leave open.
She went to the vet last week and is super healthy, plus eats normally. I’m worried she’s bored, but don’t know how to help her – she does have toys, etc. but seems to prefer laying…[Read more]

I’ve noticed that if both are friendly, they both stay friendly and seek affection from you (and then you get to pet both bunnies at once!). Buns seem to be little attention hogs and want all the pets you will dole out. πΒ I’ve also experienced what Wick describes, where the submissive bun seeks you out more because they aren’t getting any…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Having two rabbits: do they get less affectionate towards their owners? in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 3 months ago
I agree with the above that it depends on the rabbit. In the pair I’m bonding, the first rabbit is very affectionate towards me and that hasn’t changed. The second rabbit doesn’t get affection from the first rabbit, so she also comes to me for affection still as well, haha. So in my case, neither rabbit turned away from owner snuggles. That being…[Read more]

I think it depends on the rabbit. Some aren’t all that affectionate toward their owners anyway, but are extremely clingy to a bond mate. Others can be kind of “eh” toward their bond mate, but seek out attention from their owners.
Personally, I feel like there was a little less interest in me when they were young because they had each other. As…[Read more]

I agree! Look for exotic or avian vets if you resort to Google. My vet office is known for seeing birds, but one of the vets in the office does rabbits and pocket pets.

I have a hepa filter we got at Goodwill for like 12 bucks. It’s been great! I do think it keeps the dust down, but not sure I would have sprung for a full price one!
Side note: I use those sticky lint rollers on my buns, and they work really well! Bun Jovi loves them and likes it a lot more than being combed, but Myra seems to prefer a regular…[Read more]
