If their legs do look really dirty and it doesn’t just look like they’re tinged a light green from hay, you can try getting a damp washcloth and gently wiping off as much as you can, then patting them dry with a towel. Hair dryers should never be used regardless, and full-on baths should be avoided as well. As for their bodies, if it’s just tinge…[Read more]

Thank you for the replies. I never was under the impression that they were bonded. I guess I was just mistaken by assuming they had already gone through their hormone changes when they got fixed.
As for their providence, I’m not sure what the difference between wild and feril is. Their parents were “community” rabbits in my coworker’s…[Read more]

Usually from what I’ve seen when bunnies have gas, they don’t have an appetite for anything – not just hay – and they’ll lay in the loaf position for long periods of time but you say Louie is otherwise acting normal. Let us know if reducing his pellets works as that definitely could be the cause for less hay consumption.

I can hear them from my room (I live in an apartment). They didn’t fight last night, just stamping and chasing.
I’ve put them in the pen together today and she sprayed all over him again. So put her back in the cage for a while. When I let her out, the poops were literally falling out of her butt where she stood when she saw him!
i just can…[Read more]

I really hope I’m prepared enough, I will be checking Amazon to possibly try to get some Simethicone Baby Gas Drops and Critical Care. Thanks for the help!

Oh, I don’t have Critical Care… I don’t know if this actually works, but someone told me to use mashed up pellets?

Hello,
I’ve just adopted two rabbits from a friend who was unable to take care of them. Both are about 8 months and are male rabbits. They’ve got white fur and red eyes.
Their hind legs are pretty much very dry and and dirty and they dont look normal. Their fur is also yellowish. It seems like it’s because of sitting on the pee. He said it’s…[Read more]

Brought my adolescent bunny a few weeks ago and settled her in my room, at first I put a barrier at my door so she won’t go out and disappear to a corner in the house were I couldn’t find her, then when she was fully liter trained and settled I took of the barrier.
But contrary to her outdoor and super friendly personality, she won’t agree to go…[Read more]

Give it as much freedom as possible. Rabbits need to have the space to run, jump and play. If you must cage the rabbit, make the cage as large as possible and plan for as much time out as you can allow. As long as the rabbit has something hard to chew on to keep its teeth from overgrowth, and anything it can nudge, toss or dig at is desirable.

That’s great! If she keeps it up, you could probably go down to one CC feeding a day.
I brought up the possibility of a stroke before thinking nerve damage might be the issue. If the test comes back negative, I would ask the neurologist about that. Although unlikely, it is a possibility. Recovery from a stroke is extremely slow going, if the vet…[Read more]

You do seem well prepared! Simethicone baby gas drops is good to have in the bunny first aid kit in case of minor tummy upset. But that’s a minor thing, it seems you’ve been very thorough in your planning. I hope you’ll have a wonderful weekend!

@DanaNM – Thank you for understanding. I also hope we get some answers from this latest blood test. I had not heard of myasthenia gravis either, until the neurologist mentioned it.
@LBJ10 – I know you guys are just trying to help. I appreciate it, believe me! At this point, I have no choice but to do what my family thinks is best: trust the vets.…[Read more]

I would definitely place some fun hidey-houses around. Ramps to run up and down might be fun too! I also recommend tunnels, and lots and lots of toys.

Hello everyone! I have a shed that we do not use and I am making that into a pet room! (don’t worry it has ac and electricity and all that jazz haha) I will also be putting a hamster in that (not where the rabbit can reach ofc) but am hoping to be free roaming the rabbit in there. I’m not sure what to put in there to help the rabbit feel…[Read more]
