It’s good that you can call them if you need to! You should, if she really stops eating and pooping. It is still somewhat “early days” on the Panacur though. Have you seen any improvement so far regarding her balance?

So glad she’s started to poop!
But yes, rabbits can have “relapses” while on Panacur. It is a very slow-acting drug. Some buns need 5 weeks of treatment, or even more. Some buns, albeit few, get side effects from the Panacur. Panacur is slso often combined with meloxicam for the anti-inflammatory properties of meloxicam. Are you in any kind of…[Read more]

okay she started pooping, but her appetite is still not there yet like it has Been. This was the symptoms she was having before i took her to the vet. Is this normal for a bunny on panacur for ec? I know i have 2 weeks ish left of her medication but is it common for them to start feeling bad after they have been doing so well?

You can give the meloxicam, but hold off on the metoclopramide. Metoclopramide is contra-indicated if there is some sort of intestinal blockage, and we cant know if there is a blockage.

Stress and diet changes can affect the rabbit tummy, but very often we just dont know what causes tummy problems in them.
I hope you’ll soon see poop. Since he is esting, chances are good he’ll poop. Try to get extra fluids in him by serving wet greens. You can make hay tea to entice him to drink more (pour hot water on some hay, let sit until…[Read more]

It’s been a stressful day. My rabbit Klaue bit my other rabbit, Sam, this morning. They were bonded but I think their bond must have broken for this to happen. The bite was enough to bleed but it’s scabbed up now and I cleaned it up good. I have separated them and been keeping an eye on Sam all day. He’s been himself. He’s been exploring his new…[Read more]

Hi frenchfried, I think your post would get more attention if you start a new thread. With it buried in the replies of this thread it could be hard for people to notice!
I’m very sorry your bun is poorly. 🙁 When my senior started declining I had a lot of success with the product Emeraid Herbivore Sustain. I would recommend trying that or another…[Read more]

Having to do the 2 dose series is annoying, but after their first 2 dose series they only need 1 dose annually, so that’s good.

I have not heard of them until now. It seems they mostly have products for dogs and cats? I would be hesitant to use a product that is marketed for “all animals” because dogs, cats, rabbits, etc all have different digestive systems and metabolisms.
Is there a particular concern you have for your bunny? I had a good experience with the herbal…[Read more]

You could try using some dried herbs as treats? Anything fragrant would be exciting for a bun, and I know dried dandelion is usually very popular. I know some members have had buns that couldn’t handle fresh greens but did well with dried greens and herbs.

Thank you so much for your information!
I’ve tried so many different healthy treats with my Lionhead and it seems after a 2-3 week course, he gets clumps of Cecotropes for about 4 days. Even fresh or freeze dried fruit. However, that may be something I can only give him once a week instead of 1 little piece everyday. He so loves to come runn…[Read more] -

It is nerve wracking to have a poorly bun. I hope this is just some minor upset tummy and that she’ll go back to doing well again soon. Keep a close eye on her poop, maybe clean out her litterbox so you know if she poops.

Yes, I just saw it was you, I know your bun is on Panacur for EC. But it’s of course still good to mention that in this thread, there are buns that get Panacur for worms.

Panacur isnt toxic so a tiny bit more than her normal dose shouldn’t be a problem. The systomd you’re seeing could perhaps be a side effect of the Panacur though. What is she getting the Panacur for? Has she been on it long?
It sounds like your bun might have an upset tummy. Try to make her move around a bit, that’s the best way to get gas to…[Read more]
