Trixieandcookies replied to the topic How to prevent the litter box from messing up the whole house? Looking for recs in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 6 years, 2 months ago
You don’t have to get a hooded litter box with a door. I just use a high sided cat litter box as i had problems with the pee spraying out of the litter box and onto the floor. If you completely cover the litter with hay there won’t be any litter sticking to the buns feet but there might be hay on the floor instead. My bunnies actually don’t track…[Read more]

Trixieandcookies replied to the topic Help! Bun peeing on me when on couch. in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 2 months ago
Is the couch used like did you buy it used? Sometime if the previous owner had a pet who peed on the couch and there is still that tiny smell that only the bun bun can smell that could be it. But if not it could be your clothes or maybe it has the scent of another one of your pets? I know my bunny does not like the cats scent and she’ll chin…[Read more]

It makes sense to me since it’s very hot, the less fur, the better! I know some owners may propose their rabbits are just always molting, haha.

@Hazel – I totally missed your post, so cute!! You have a white ferret too. So cute both of them.
So many cute buns!!
@TrixieandCookies is does your bun do the obstacle hopping? Sorry probably a better name for it! It looks like those poles are set up for it.

@Dana you are probably right, but then there is the bit of cord from the outlet to the floor exposed. I think I’ll try the flex. metal conduit for the necessary cords (@Louie that is exactly what I mean, stuff I can’t unplug and stash), and I’ll keep you posted!

Oh yeah that makes sense. for me it was clothes instead of fur. Felt like a tug on the fabric.

Dorian is a young (under 2 years old) neutered bun. He has impeccable litter habits, as in they have been 100% for peeing from day one. We had some sleepy and excited bun poops when I first got him around six months, but even those are pretty rare these days. Mostly just a pellet or so he kicks out while getting too rambunctious in the litter. But…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Dirty and dry hind legs in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 2 months ago
This is normal with fur that was consistently wet (at least at one point). The fur will actually loosen and become detached, leaving a bald area. They were probably suffering from some scalding and now that they are being kept in clean conditions, the area dried out. You will likely still lose some fur, but it should eventually grown back once the…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Can rabbits have pus in their eye/nose? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 2 months ago
Bam is correct. The vet prescribed the right treatment given the information that had. Hopefully the eye drops will clear it up. If not, oral antibiotics are not very expensive. If the problem persists, then tooth root issues would be the next thing to explore.

Oh, it’s good you didn’t clean that area with soap yet, it might burn or be very irritating. that looks pretty bad? I’m not experienced with injuries but that might need a trip to the vet?

Please cross your fingers for us! I started with the pen the size of the pad and Chloe was being mean so I had to decrease. Decreasing the size pretty much instantly changed her entire demeanor. Now she’s just chilling so I’ll expand it again here in like 10 minutes, just gonna give her a chance to chill a while longer first.
