Cottonballbun: Thank you! π
Hazel: Bonding is doing well. Although there were a few tiffs yesterday, Silver humped OB, OB bit Smokey… but overall they did well. π I’m thinking maybe one more week in the neutral territory then semi-neutral territory? π

They ate hay all day before and it did crumble, but I think this hay looks nice so maybe it tastes better too. I think I might just keep feeding this although it’s quite a bit more expensive than the bales.Β They just won’t be allowed to poop and pee on it as much π

Dark vs. light poo can be a result of less hay consumption, as well as more or less hydration, I believe. Thus, more hay typically means light, dry, more crumbly poo. If the poop is lighter brown as a result, it’s probably a reflection of their hay consumption. I wouldn’t be too concerned about it!

I normally feed compressed bales of Timothy and my rabbits like it and eat a lot. I recently ran out and the feed store is taking forever to reorder so they’re eating a big box of hay. It seems like objectively “nicer” hay but that don’t seem to be eating more or anything, they already ate a lot. Anyhow the poops normally are normal fill of hay,…[Read more]

Oh and I have caught Elmer grooming her ears a few times. It doesn’t last too long though.

Thanks, I try and give them a good bunny life! Most the toys they don’t even use, their favorite thing is zoomies and the tunnels π
Over the last 24 hours they seem to be closer… They are laying inches apart more often instead of across the room. If I pet them both together they’ll lay touching. Ruby definitely wants cuddles. She flopped right…[Read more]

It looks like the bumps you mean are under the skin? If at all unsure Iβd get them checked out by a vet, if it is anything serious itβs much better to catch early. How long have they been there and have they changed in size or number?

Thanks for the update! I love their set up. π
Before deeming them fully bonded you do want to see a good amount of positive interactions (at least some grooming, even if one sided, and some cuddling), but it sounds like you are on the way. I’m very cautious because I had a pair a few years ago that was peaceful for 5 months but never cuddled or…[Read more]

Hi,Β just dropping in to give an update! Elmer still doesn’t want to be cuddly but they are usually in close proximity. They have been getting along just fine and we are over 6 days together. It isn’t the typical bonded pair but with these they can live together while building up to it πΒ

I think either would be fine, but it seems like she’s in discomfort you could give it at 8 pm to keep the 12 hour cycle.

*sigh* today I went out with my family and when I got back, Louie had peed on my bed. He got a time out in his xpen and his free-roaming conditions are gonna change from all the time free-roam in my room to only when I’m home.

I’m not sure if this is possible, but free-roaming in one room that the dogs aren’t allowed in is a nice way to allow lots of room, although it doesn’t work for everyone.

Hunny had her evening dose of Gabapentin at 10:00 PM, as scheduled (it’s already almost 11:00 PM here, as my timezone is EST). Would she be okay getting it again at 8:00 AM and then at 8:00 PM tomorrow, or should we wait until 10:00 PM again as per our original schedule? In other words:
Normal Schedule
10:00 AM – Gabapentin
10:00 PM -…[Read more]

Glad everything went well with the spay!
Soft poop is a side effect of the anesthesia. I wouldn’t be worried unless it persists.
