My rabbit will not eat hay.
I think it’s because she swallowed some of her fur, she was always quite a difficult rabbit. She’s impossible to brush and cut fur. Today took me and my dad to hold her down just to cut her fur a little.
She eats pellets, and just now I fed fer some carrots. She eats them just fine.
She always gets excited to eat…[Read more]

Thank you so much for all your replies! Yes, the friendship is most definitely over, Hazel, not a doubt in my mind. I don’t ever want to associate with these people ever again! They make my blood boil!
In regards to boarding, we’ve contacted several different boarding groups but unfortunately they all require the vaccination records, a photocopy…[Read more]

Thanks guys, for not directly linking to the channels.
I don’t know many others that are similar to 101 or Lennon or Stormy Rabbits. I did come across one called Mustache Bunny when I was looking up the house rabbit society channel.
Erin’s Ark Vlogs had some rabbit videos and some other cute animals – mostly Guinea pigs. 🙂
For pure ente…[Read more]

Would there be something she won’t walk on but wouldn’t bother Stitch? I’m thinking soumetbinh you could put around the box…
Or maybe you could rub some orange peel on the floor around the box? My only concern with doing that is Stitch might think he needs to start marking where the new smell is. 😐

Good luck with the bun you hope to adopt! Honestly, the best thing to stop a rabbit from spraying is most likely getting him fixed. Fixed rabbits maintain much better litter habits, and also show fewer aggressive and territorial behaviors. Your friend could try to place a wall covering of some sort? Maybe she could hang a tarp along the walls.

Hey guys!
I’m having another restless night, and as the kind of person who can’t fall asleep if they have something on their mind, here I am.
So I myself do not have a rabbit yet, though there is a bun at a rescue about an hour away that I have fallen in love with (the evil part of me hopes he won’t get adopted so I can adopt him, but it might…[Read more]

Hi @kendall
I would wait until the French lop was fixed before a speed date, for after buns’ are fixed, their scent changes, so then it could potentially be like starting all over again. I agree with @Asriel and Bombur, waiting a month or so so that they forget each other, then doing bunny dates, is a good idea. 🙂
Here is a website that…[Read more]

I agree with Bam. Grooming other objects is a proxy to licking you. It doesn’t necessarily need to smell like you. The grooming behavior was triggered (probably by your presence) and then she proceeded to lick whatever was closest to her. Have you tried sneaking your hand in there? LOL

It is definitely worth digging into for legitimacy, but I try to think of cooling techniques that require some sort of water evaporation for rabbits, in addition to the ideal “cool the entire space they’re in”. The reason fans work for humans is because it cools the sweat off our skin and we get that sensation– rabbits do not sweat, to my…[Read more]

@pinkiemarie, here it’s generally maybe a week or two, so never felt justified to get AC… until that week happens 😀
and he was outside on the sunniest part of the deck all flopped out, though finally convinced him to come inside closer to the fan.
and he’s back outside. Ah well. I guess I will stop worrying

So you know ANYONE who can go get them? Even if they just take them to your vet! That said does your vet offer boarding? I am so mad at these people on your behalf.

Haha I live in MT and I bought an AC for my buns, but I also have south facing windows and it gets very hot in here for like 20 days or more a year. It’s really a short season here too. I would think he’d go to the bottle or cool time if he felt hot though! Just try to keep the house as cool as you can. Blackout curtains over south facing windows,…[Read more]

Does you cat have multiple boxes? Some cats are incredibly picky about their box and it might help to have two for the cat if you don’t. You might also try a different litter in the second box to see if the cat prefers it. If you are using scented cat litter try unscented, you can also try crystals, paper, wheat litter.

yeah it’s crazy hot here today (PNW speaking 😀 ). He has option to go outside on the deck (shaded and more breeze) and his room is actually the coolest in the apartment. It’s an odd spare bathroom, so he can lay on the shower tile as I removed the mat. He doesn’t seem panty or upset, his ears actually felt coolish. He seems to be dealing with…[Read more]

I live in the PNW too! Today is so hot, there’s a warning that it’s almost 90-something degrees, whew. If he is hot, he probably would do something about it. For Louie, I place a sheet over his xpen so it’s more shady and cool, offer him lots of water, and give him a tile to hang out on, and he seems fine. If Prince Dorian isn’t doing anything at…[Read more]

So I live in the PNW and our hot days are pretty limited so no air conditioning, however it’s gotten pretty warm the last few days. I tried the iced water bottle in a cloth… he ignored it. He has tile floor to lay on… he isn’t. Instead he is hopping about and snuggling in his warm nest. Should I be worried or just trust him to maintain his own…[Read more]

Dorian is a licky bun, and he likes licking fuzzy things a lot… so I could see clothing and especially stuffed animals falling into that category. Maybe your bunny just likes the textures too? I think it reminds them a bit of fur.

this may be a bit of an odd suggestion, but if I am giving Dorian new foods, I often at least mimic eating them myself, lucky for me this is mainly with leafy veg and occasionally a new fruit, but I have just pretended to eat it and that works too! He then becomes more curious and will actually try a bite or two. After which I give him lots of…[Read more]
