Teeth sensitivity after filing is not unusual. You can also imagine the oddity if you suddenly woke up and your teeth were different lengths — there’s adjustment to potential sensitivity and then the foreign feel of your mouth. Sounds like it’s around 10AM for you right now, which is probably when a normal rabbit would be winding down to sleep.…[Read more]

    Hi @Bu20055

Getting a but is always very exciting, and packed up with tension on waiting to see what the bun would think of your home. For a bunny, it is scary being in a place, with new people and new smells. I would say that it is would probably be best to let your bun fully adjust to her/his new pen, and all of the different sites and smells…[Read more]

At midnight last night (10 hours ago), Hunny took some bites of pellets and did a more significant amount of poops. The poops were on the smaller side, again, but the quantity was good (over 20). We are concerned because Hunny hasn’t really eaten anything since those pellets at midnight (at least that we’ve seen), but hopefully that changes soon.…[Read more]

Anesthesia recovery varies based on the rabbit and the specific anesthesia protocol a vet uses. I think the longest one of my rabbits had been “off” for was 5 hours, and then his general activity schedule was off for a while more.

    Hello all!

So I do not currently have a rabbit, however I am planning on adopting soon.

I know you’re supposed to let your new bun settle in for a few days before really interacting with them, but I was just wondering, can you leave the pen open to give them a chance to come out?

    Thanks!

Either is completely fine! It’s great that you’re trying to incorporate a variety of hay.

My experience with oat hay for one of my rabbits is he seemed very enthusiastic about it, but I quickly realized he would only eat the seed heads and leave the actual hay alone. Oat hay has very attractive, robust seed heads and he did not seem interested in…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Help! Bunny pee is weird in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 1 month ago

If you find that pee is occurring every time, it may be a sign that there is too much calcium in her diet; however, if it’s only occurring once in a while, it’s normal as jerseygirl mentions!

Moving around can be a good thing. I remember for one of my rabbits, I forced them to move around to get their intestines moving. Humorously, he always left behind poops as he hopped…he must have been very clogged up, haha.

Any chance the grass you’re getting is from a different location or has been treated differently?

It is normal for the pee to have some white sediment. : )

They pee out any calcium that their body does not need.

I think Ziggy is finally in the clear. He took a cookie from me and was doing binkies so im assuming he wouldn’t be doing that if he was in stasis still? . (I had to have him away from patches due to monitoring his eating/pooping) they seemed to have a few little tiffs but seem relatively back to normal. Im having big issues with patches and…[Read more]

It seems you are seeing improvement! It can be a couple of weeks before her poop returns to normal. When my bun had a long bout of stasis last fall I took pictures of his poop daily so I could follow his progess closely without having to wonder if I was imagining things!

Its good that she hops around. Hopping around gets the intestines moving,…[Read more]

I have another app where I can ask a vet questions. So I asked about the aspirin. He said it was fine so I gave it to her. I won’t give her anymore and I regret giving it to her (it was 1/4 of an 81 mg) I just couldn’t take seeing her in pain. She’s doing a little better now. She’s still eating on her own and she pooped 10 more. I think we’re o…[Read more]

I wouldn’t give any medicine that wasn’t prescribed to her, but you can keep giving tummy rubs. How is she doing now?
