    @LittleMouse93

I used to feed my three together (until I had to separate them to do the bonding process) Are your buns the same breed? Could be that one is meant to be a bigger bun. My buns pretty much evened it out, so each got how much they were supposed to have. If one you notice starts to get a little on the plumper side, you could give them…[Read more]

Oh, and yes. The drops have simethicone.

I’m always so nervous about GI stasis. I’m sorry Bernard and you have dealt with that! It seems it’s a slippery slope once it starts.

    Thank you, both!!

Overnight, she had again boycotted her litter tray in her enclosure. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I went to bed later last night and got up earlier than I’d have liked, so she went about 6-7 hours holding poos. She came out and immediately ran to her other litter tray and left a small but respectable pile. I offered pineapple but she just isn’t a fan…[Read more]

    Thanks everyone!

This morning when I got up, he is acting much better. He ate a couple dried strawberries and some lettuce. He also took a nice long wash. He hasnt gotten into the hay I left for him.

Still no poops that I see though. I will try to get him moving around though and continue the simethicone.

I added some pineapple juice to his…[Read more]

I’m so very sorry this happened.

Binky free, sweet little one 💔

Of course it was the right thing to do, to take her for a check up. Good, conscientious rabbit owners do that.

    Hey all,

I was wondering how those of you who have multiple rabbits go about feeding them? I don’t really mean “what” you feed them as far as diet. I mean, how do you make sure they’re all eating their own portion of food?

I have 2 females who insist on eating from the same food bowl. I give them their greens on a big plate, so they can share,…[Read more]

I can tell that you really love them and he’s so lucky that you took him! I think he’ll be great, just give him time.

So after my bunny had a blood clot in his back at the start of this year the vet and I have agreed he probably won’t ever be able to use a ramp again if he hasnt by now, so it was new hutch time.

I’ve got him a nice sized one level hutch but the bottom is raw wood. Will this be okay even if his pee gets into it? Or do I need to cover it with…[Read more]

You didn’t mention how much he weighs and honestly from your picture I can’t tell if he’s a standard sized or dwarf. If he’s a dwarf that may actually be enough pellets to keep him full without eating any hay and you may want to see about cutting back slightly. You could examine his teeth for anything obvious but a vet that is good with rabbits is…[Read more]

Do you have any critical care or a pet store in the area where you can get some? I’m not sure if it would help in the case of a blockage but it came on so fast I’m wondering if it caused gas, like you’re treating for, and if that’s the case then it would help keep his git moving until he’s no longer uncomfortable and feels like eating.

I’d continue the simethicone and give water via syringe. Hydration is key. If he will drink more with a bit of apple juice or other juice added to his water bowl, give him that. Give him plain water as well, in case he wont drink water that tastes “funny”.

Also try and make him move around. You can try and elevate his butt a little bit now and…[Read more]

    Hi all,

Yesterday, we gave the buns some special chew toys – fruit flavored chews and some flavored loofah bites. Backers enthusiastically wolfed down a loofah bite.

However, about 10 minutes after eating, he began acting uncomfortable. This continued, stretching out his tummy and fidgeting. I moved him to the cool bedroom (our living room ac…[Read more]

Its been a very long time since I bought alfalfa hay (Oxbow), so I dont really remember, it looked much like normal hay to me. Shorter strands and no seed heads. I think you will have to ask. But all other grasses in a mix are fine and a little bit of clover or alfalfa won’t be a problem.

First I’d just like to mention I’m not an expert at all, I’ve only had a rabbit for 3 months. But my rabbit has a sensitive stomach and gets gas occasionally, so I thought I’d share what has helped me.

Do the gas drops have simethicone? That’s the kind that really helps. One thing that seems to always help Bernard is making sure she keeps mov…[Read more]

So I switched my rabbits, Winnie, hay over from bagged to fresh cut from farm hay. It is 2nd cut Timothy hay, so really nothing different fiber wise. She is an 8 month old mini Holland lop and I’ve never had digestive issues with her.

But ever since the hay switch, I’ve noticed her poops have gotten darker and smaller, where as before they were…[Read more]
