When you feel they are fully bonded let us know! We like to added “BONDED” to the title of threads that end with a successful bond so it can be helpful to other’s reading the threads. 🙂

You have been given great advice so far. I think they will both benefit from an extended settling in period just living as neighbors. Bonding and pre-bonding will be easier once they feel safe and trust you (and you will have a better read on their true personalities). 🙂

Yep, agree with pinkiemarie that a vet can diagnose dental problems, but other symptoms include drooling, increasing picky-ness in eating, and other signs of discomfort. And I also agree that if he’s very small then he might just be filling up on veg and pellets. 🙂

Unless one rabbit is very aggressive towards the other I wouldn’t even worry about it. I put out pellets for my bonded pair and they’re in love so the just share the pile. One bun is significantly larger than the other but he doesn’t stop the smaller one from eating, and they usually stop and play around halfway through their meal then go back, so…[Read more]

@LBJ10 – I honestly think he snarfed it down so quickly, that it just didn’t go down right. He is bad about wolfing down his treat, then stealing Hazel’s from her mouth lol. He is a piglet.

Its not a big issue of she actually eats the hay. You get different looking poop when you change hay. Could she be drinking more because the weather is hot? More water results in darker poop.

Hmm… it sounds like she is preferring the litter box outside of her cage for some reason. Some bunnies can be very particular about going in their litter box, sometimes holding their poop if they are unable to get to it. You could try putting the preferred litter box inside her enclosure at night to see if that makes a difference.

It’s great that she is grazing on hay again. Hay will make the poop ample again, if she keeps eating it. It’s difficult to say what could be the cause, hopefully it was just the odd bout of gas brought on by the molt. As you know, many buns get a bit of tummy trouble when they molt.
