@HipHopBunny Thank you!! 😊 I’ve got some toys in there and the white one decided the hidey house is a toy! I tried putting it back in the shape of a house after he pushed it down but he flattened it again lol. It’s a chew toy now. My mom is bringing home some apple sticks for them! I’ll have to look online for more toys. 🙂 I’ll watch and see if…[Read more]

    @Moonlightbunny66

AWW! They are absolutely too cute!! 😀 I am so excited for you! They look like such nice, and regal buns. I am sure they will make a great match. 🙂 As for the fleece digging, one way to get them to stop is too make the fleece un-appealing to them, put down toys, fun things to climb on and such, and it should do the trick.…[Read more]

Hey everyone! I finally got my new bunnies today from the animal shelter! I’m so happy! 😊 They were neutered a few days ago, I’ll be attempting to bond them in about 6 weeks. They are big bunny boys. The grey one is literally cat sized. They both have their feet kicked out right now (they can’t see each other so they don’t know they’re doing the…[Read more]

Unless one rabbit is very aggressive towards the other I wouldn’t even worry about it. I put out pellets for my bonded pair and they’re in love so the just share the pile. One bun is significantly larger than the other but he doesn’t stop the smaller one from eating, and they usually stop and play around halfway through their meal then go back, so…[Read more]

@LBJ10 – I honestly think he snarfed it down so quickly, that it just didn’t go down right. He is bad about wolfing down his treat, then stealing Hazel’s from her mouth lol. He is a piglet.

Bam replied to the topic Switched Over Rabbits Hay in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years ago

Its not a big issue of she actually eats the hay. You get different looking poop when you change hay. Could she be drinking more because the weather is hot? More water results in darker poop.

If the smaller poop are due to her not eating as much hay as she should. It’s often difficult to assess how much hay that gets eaten, but if its possible,…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Constipation? Digestion Issues? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years ago

Hmm… it sounds like she is preferring the litter box outside of her cage for some reason. Some bunnies can be very particular about going in their litter box, sometimes holding their poop if they are unable to get to it. You could try putting the preferred litter box inside her enclosure at night to see if that makes a difference.

    As for the…[Read more]

It’s great that she is grazing on hay again. Hay will make the poop ample again, if she keeps eating it. It’s difficult to say what could be the cause, hopefully it was just the odd bout of gas brought on by the molt. As you know, many buns get a bit of tummy trouble when they molt. They can also be grumpy during a molt. The best “remedies” are…[Read more]

I wouldn’t be too concerned. As long as they are both getting their fair share, then it should be OK to let them continue eating from the same bowl. Some bunnies are just funny like that. Try observing them to make sure they are taking turns. If one is acting greedy and preventing the other from getting the same number of “bites” in, then I would…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic what the hay in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years ago

One easiest way to identify alfalfa inside a mix of hay is the stems. When dried, the stems are very thin, round and almost stick-like. Leaves are often present as well. Alfalfa is trifoliolate, just like clover. They will be shriveled up, but they will look very different from grass leaves. Orchard and timothy are often flat and ribbon-like in…[Read more]

Glad to hear he is doing better! He probably just had gas, perhaps from swallowing too much loofah?

    WE HAVE POOPS!!

Phew, I think crisis averted. I gave him another round of simethicone, then he proceeded to destroy a towel in tiny rage lol. I’m pretty sure he was imagining my face as he tore holes in the towel lol.

Shortly after, there were normal poops! He is now happily reunited with Hazel and out and about again.

Thank you for the advice!…[Read more]
