ChannyPea started the topic Really bad agression after spay in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years ago
Hi guys
My rabbit was spayed over 5 nearly 6 weeks ago now and she is getting more and more aggressive. Alot of lunging, biting and flinching at the slightest move I make. She used to be so loving and friendly but now she’s really angry all the time. Well, at times she’s quite sweet but majority of the time not so much. I have tried everything…[Read more]

prince dorian the bun started the topic terrified of watering can in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years ago
Dorian is all in all a pretty chill bun, sirens or thunder… who cares, crows going crazy at the feeder mere feet away from him… usually just flops right under the feeder, but yesterday I brought out my water can to water the plants on his deck. He thumped several times (he is not a thumper), ran in crazy circles & would not calm down for like…[Read more]

MichiganRabbits started the topic Can my rabbit get pink eye from me? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years ago
Most of my family had pink eye and I now have it too! I am getting a 4 month old male Netherland dwarf and would like to know if my rabbit could get pink eye from me or my other family members. If so, do you have any tips to prevent it? Thanks!

Oh sooo very sorry, even worse to have her pass away while you were not with her. I can only try to imagine how in shock and grief stricken you are. As everyone said please do not feel you did anything wrong. Also when you feel up to it, I would love to hear about your bun! I find sharing stories keeps them alive in our hearts and I know for me it…[Read more]

@DanaNM that is adorable! 😀 Bonnie looks like she is really enjoying those pets 😉 Absolutely too cute! I have noticed Smokey making similar sounds when I rub this one spot on her ‘Oh that is nice, keep rubbing…’ 😆

It always takes some time to build a bond with a bun, so don’t get discouraged! You are doing the right thing, letting him adjust and not rushing into trying to bond with him. You are going to be an excellent bun mom for him. 🙂

Lately while getting her evening pets Bonnie has been making this sound, apparently it’s called clucking or chirruping!
I had only ever heard Bertha make it a few times, never heard any of the boys make it! I guess females also make it when nursing kits.
I thought it was so cute I just had to share!

I will second @Wilburbunny & @BAM on increasing his range slowly to avoid pee oopses, for me that was the biggest reason for slowly opening up his territory… other one was making sure things were bunny proofed. Until you get a rabbit it’s hard to know what that rabbits particular talent for mischief will be 😀 and it’s much easier to keep and…[Read more]

Thank you, I’ll be in the corner awaiting my beatings.

There are lots of rabbit proofing tips here: https://binkybunny.com/infocategory/bunny-proofing/
It really is essential that your rabbit gets adequate space to exercise, so hopefully you find some tips that help.
I’ve found that storage cube grids (NIC grids) are especially useful for completely blocking off areas where the bun gets in trouble.
