You don’t know how much your words mean to me. Not many people understand the bond that rabbits have with one another. I know people with just one rabbit and don’t understand how they could do that to them.
I got a bunch of stuffed animals and that really seems to help, but he’s definitely not his perky self. But he is still eating still…

Update on bonding: Semi-neutral territory. They are in different pens, in a different spot now. I have been letting all of them out at the same time, and Silver and OB are getting along great, flopping next to each other, but when Smokey comes over, they chase her away. Now Smokey is avoiding them, and when they chase her, she takes refuge in the…[Read more]

@HipHopBunny I really do hope they get along! 🙂

@LBJ10 Yeah I guess they do LOL

@DanaNM Yeah that could be it… But the laying down the same way is still weird lol!

I need new litter and I saw this one called Canawick hardwood pellets. They’re wood stove pellets. It says no additives. I think they’re made from birch and maple wood. Are these safe? I was using horse stall pellets before, but I’m running out.

You can also try mixing the CC with some mashed banana to see if that will get her to eat it on her own. But otherwise you will need to syringe feed her.

You might try restricting the space just slightly if they seem to be spending a lot of time apart, but it sounds like things are going great!

So cute! I notice with mine that I think they hear the other rabbit doing something (like eating hay) and think, “hmm that’s a good idea!”

She might still be going through a bit of “post-spay craze” which will hopefully die down in a couple more weeks. That said, my bridge bunny Bertha was a serious carpet digger.

What worked with her was to cover the carpet hot spots (as she seemed to have specific areas she would get obsessed with) with a heavy ceramic tile, and then give…[Read more]

I’m so sorry for your loss. 🙁

I’ve had to deal with the loss of a bonded mate a couple times now (unfortunately), and so far you are doing exactly what I recommend.

Since Ralph was able to see Morgan, he will likely be ok. You are right in that he likely did know he was dying before you did. He might be a bit quieter than normal for a bit. Just…[Read more]

Rabbits have synchronized grooming (instead of synchronized swimming). 😛

I reached out to rescue about fostering but will wait till after the storm. I’m getting stuffed animals for Ralph to see if that helps.

Thank you. I took Ralph to see Morgan today. It was pretty uneventful, so he may have already known. Vet placed Morgan with towels on ground, sort of close to Ralph who went to a corner in the room. Vet left us, Ralph didn’t do much but sniff him once and put his head down, like he usually does when Morgan cares for him, when I pushed him f…[Read more]

If it’s at the point where she doesn’t want to eat it, then force-feeding is unfortunately required. She really does need to eat. As @jerseygirl mentioned, you can try to experiment with different consistencies of critical care (thick to watery pancake-batter consistency, as one of my vets describe the spectrum) to see if she’s willing to eat any…[Read more]

I agree with @Hazel that toys have hold a variable amount of interest, depending on their material, weight, and “anchor-edness”.

My Fable has “chewing times” every day, which are very routine. She also has “tossing times” too. During chewing times, I need to be holding onto the piece of cardboard or the willow toy so she can really tear and chew…[Read more]

@Dface Thank you! Yeah I wasn’t sure if it would be too rough for them. They both have short hair. This morning I used a double sided brush and one side has soft bristles which got some of the loose fur off. I could try the damp hand next time!

Agree with @Dface, you should make the carpet uninteresting to her. Another way is too put down lots of toys, and when she chews on something more appropriate, reward her with extra pets, or a treat. You could also put down little toys where she is digging, such as cardboard boxes, and hidey houses. One thing my buns LOVE is grass mats, which are…[Read more]

    Life Lessons According to Moink

    Lesson in Personal Property.

If you like something, pee on it. Now you own it.

If you dont like something, also pee on it.

You should still own it, even if you don’t like it.

    Key Point to Remember:

All things, including humans and other animals are rightfully yours. Pee first, ask questions l…[Read more]

Is she eating the carpet or just ripping it up ? My female went through a phase like this and my god she was like a dog with a bone. My main solution was to cover the carpet with cheap rugs that she could wreck without costing me a fortune, until I found her things she would rather be doing.

You could also purchase fleece and lay it down smooth…[Read more]
