Sure, you will have less years with her than if you got a baby bunny. But I think there is a lot of satisfaction to be gained from adopting an older pet that would be overlooked by most people. Rabbits are prey animals and domesticated rabbits (i.e. the ones we have as pets) have essentially “bred out” means to survive independently, so I think more so than a pet dog or cat, pet rabbits require more work daily and consistently. It might be a bit far for you in NH but I take my bunny to Park Place Veterinary Hospital in Swanzey NH. They have been nothing but wonderful with Starlight and seem to know a lot about bunnies.

Back to square 1 with reduced territory slowly opening it up. If you can add a litter box (if you haven’t already) in the open area that may help as well as he may be more willing to go there than to go all the way back home. To be honest it depends more on the individual rabbit than the breed, and regardless of whether the little man is aggressive, he will definitely have better litter habits and most likely be more chill.

I just want to update this because I’m just screaming on the inside. So I’m considering getting a single male Holland lop and read that neutering won’t necessarily do much for them since they are not known to be aggressive anyway.

Anyone have experience specifically with unneutered male Holland lops?

I just googled and saw something saying that all parts of the Clover are bunny safe but it can cause gas. If it’s a very small amount it should be ok.

I actually just bought a huge bale from a local co-op, only $23 USD for 100 pounds.

So I got both of mine neutered young but my friend got hers neutered at like 3 years old. Okay thanks! So this hay is good for an adult bun? Should I take out the clover when I see it or is it okay for buns to have? There’s about one or two clover flowers/stems per large handful of hay. Is that an okay amount?
